Does the game support DirectX 10 or 11 rendering? Checked the official FAQ and it just recommends a DX 9.0 card :/ . Ill be upgrading my 10 card to 11 at the end of the month (or early feb) and id like to finally start playing games not made for 2004...

Rift is 100% all 9.0c, so no on 10 or 11 and you probably wont see much in the way of improvements (making good use of Direct X 10 or higher) for a long time as GameBryo was just recently sold off to a Korean company as the engine was dead in the water for the most part.

UGH! I think I just heard darth vader somewhere going NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. That makes me sad pandas. Its 2011 no? So a 2004 game (WoW) has DX 10/11 support but a 2011 game dont?

Rift is most certainly not a next generation game. My first impression was that about 90% of the game feels dated, almost like it belongs back in 2004 at the very least. Most of the actual next gen titles are making large leaps and bounds using both the CryEngine and Unreal.

No need to bash on Rift not currently supporting dx 10/11 effects in their beta client. You will have the Dx 10/11 smoke and mirrors shortly after launch.... I guarantee it.

Dont care for smoke and mirrors, just the performance boost of a more efficient rendering engine (aka much better frame rate). And did they say anywhere that theyre adding DX 10/11 support or are you just guessing?
