This is like robbing a Wal Mart because you don't like their customer service. Except you're also putting the finances of thousands of other people at risk. People like these are the reason hackers continue to get labeled as malcontents by the rest of society.

If he truly wanted to "help" out the gaming population of RoM, he wouldnt be threatening to release all the information of said population. This is his own personal vendetta and he has his own agenda.

Also why do gaming companies deserved to be hacked? If the cash shop is over priced, if their customer service sucks, etc etc etc no one is forcing you to play or pay for a thing...move on to one of the 10 kajillion other MMOs out there, especially when RoM is not that unique or original.

Like somebody else pointed out here, there are worse things in this life and in the world than not having your way on some online game, a f2p online game if I am right.

    edited for personal reason.

This guy is a complete scumbag.  It's bad enough companies are allowed to sell your personal information now we have some misguided 12 year old hacker pissed off about a ridiculous game threating to give out people private digits?

I cannot understand why some people are +1'ing this guy's terrible behavior. I mean would you be patting a guy on the back that stole your personal/financial information and then threatened to go public with it if a company doesn't meet HIS expectations? Stop me if I'm wrong here but not even these "cheerleaders" don't know who this guy is, but are willing to trust a crimminal over a company bounds by the laws of the land?

    Shocking!

I have zero doubt they will be caught.  If they are willing to do something this stupid over something as petty as this then they will try again to get their way in something else.  But then I am somewhat hardcore in the way I view the criminal population.

People hack goverment shit all the time and never get caught. What makes you think some gaming company will do any better? Nothing like the rage of some mmorpg geeks right? <@:)

Some people get so worked up over MMO's. Now you know why gamers, MMO players in particular, are labeled as basement dwelling socially crippled malcontents.

  • VaenVaen Member Posts: 140

This is quite cool. Granted, I'm not playing the game, but even if it was a game I were playing it would still be cool. I don't think this has to do anything with bank or other payment details, as those he most likely wouldn't have had access to, and games aren't serious business enough. Can't see anything wrong about this really, althought it's not having a good impact on the company's reputation. Might be deserved though.

An asshat is an asshat no matter what he/she is into. But mmo gamers show a different level of asshattery when they threaten to expose harm to the very people that foolishly cheer on his negative behavior. Thus planting the seed in someone else's knoggin that: Hey! people thought that other dude was cool for stickin it to them...er...I mean the man!" Hackers are bottom feeders and all you find down there is sh-t and seaweed.

The Interesting thing that this brings up,, Is YES IN FACT MORPG DATABASES DO GET HACKED

    and even more important

IS THE FACT THAT YES DEVELOPERS HIDE THAT INFO FROM ITS COMMUNTY THAT THE DATABASE WAS HACKED!!

No telling if Blizzard's database was hacked, and they havnt told us.

Now that massive increase in Account Hacks in WoW, makes sense now.

Because he dragged innocent people into that and released their login info publicly...

Come on are we serious now?

Sorry but there is no reasoning that can justify his actions.  Try again, kiddo.

And yes, there are many ways hackers are caught (more often than you think).  If you think hiding behind a few proxy's makes you free to the world, you are quite naive.

He's upset at the Company but he's taking out on the customers? Ummm... if the Company is your nemesis why drag others into it?

Wrong Answer. I don't support this idiot one bit. Nice passion, but completely wrong execution and target choice equals fail. He receives a Go To Jail card with his name on it I hope.

With a guy like this who needs evil MMO Publishers?

I completely agree, he is nowhere near a "modern day robin hood". Robin Hood (the story) didn't screw over the people.

This guy is essentialy saying that the king should do what he wants or he will sell out the people.

I hope they nail him to the wall.

This is why they hash passwords:  so that if some hacker or disgruntled employee steals the database, he doesn't get anyone's password, except for those that are so ridiculously weak that they can be guessed within the first million tries or so.

Well, they did hash the passwords.  Didn't they?  I mean, really, didn't they?  If not, then they're idiots.  Which might be how they got the database stolen in the first place.
