Best MMO for RPing?

What's the best MMO in terms of RP? I don't mean so much that people respect the lore written by the game company but players themselves fabricating stories, confabulating  etc. I mean a ROLE PLAYING COMMUNITY ... I did some back in Ultima Online and WoW RP servers and it was pretty awesome, now I wanna try it again. What's the best? Please give me some ideas ... the quality of the RP community being more important than the game itself. It could be even text-only

That would be Lord of the Rings Online on the RP server they hosted frequent events and the Bird and Baby Inn in Michel Delving was a great place on Sundays to watch performances and The Prancing Pony too. I also know of people hosting fishing competitions among other great events and the smoking and the music ability that is the ability to perform music in groups were wonderful tools.

Fallen Earth actually has a pretty active Role Playing Community.....

and its pretty easy to RP living in a post apocalypic world.

Sandbox games are best for this. Darkfall is the best bet for story-telling imo. Its currently the funnest sandbox game imo and has most potential as they keep adding to the game:

Warning: this is the most difficult game that I have come across because a lot of it relies on twich-skills. Controls are similar to games like Oblivion (takes awhile to get used to) and the gameplay is similar as well but the mobs are funner. It may be considered the best PVP game currently because of mounted combat, bunny-hopping physics engine, naval combat, and siege warfare over player holdings with FFA PVP and full-loot. It feels a lot more realistic than most games and you only have one character per account without instances along with risk vs reward so what heppens to your character tends to stir emotions in you unlike other games. Safe-zones only exist for unclanned people in NPC cities or maintained safe-zones enforced by clans (like in a player city with lots of defense and support).

 

Not the type of game to play for only a couple months and it is not very casual friendly though.

 

Exploration in this game doesn't seem to end. I have been playing for 2 years and have only seen about 70% of the map.

Anyways I hope that you find what you are looking for. There is also EVE, FE, and MO but I enjoy both the PVE and PVP much more in DF even though I kind of hated it at first lol
