Hey folks!
I am looking for a nice pvp game to play! I really like Open Pvp with objectives to achieve (RvR) and I love battlegrounds. I don't care if it's F2P or P2P as long as it's fair. I also don't really care about graphics. My preferred setting is Fantasy (except for shooters, they can be sci-fi).
I tried so far:
World of Warcraft - plenty of PvP options, but WoW has got the worst classes ever. Everyone got 2 buffs, 5 CCs and does the same amount of damage. Plus: if you got bad equip you barely have a chance
Warhammer Online - really liked the PvP and the classes there, but I heard it gets boring in the end and there's a lot of RvR-grinding, so I left at T3. I also really liked the collision query. But I think that the game will "die" soon.
Guild Wars - I always hated the auto-running towards an enemy. Combat felt unfluid. I also didn't like the Dual-Class-System. No open world pvp.
LOTRO - I loved the classes, the environment, everything. But I didn't like monster play.
Aion - Like Guild Wars to me. Just with an open world. Again: combat feels unfluid. No BGs.
Currently I am leveling a character in Legend of Edda.
Any suggestions about a good RvR/PvP game?

Not only because of the rumors. Many players and reviews say that the endgame is boring rank-grinding.
You might want to try rift..
a
Darkfall!
If you can stand a pve-grind to be among the best you will love it. The bonus is that the pve is fun as well. Join a good clan and I'm sure you'll get in on the pvp-action pretty fast. I play Darkfall, I suck at pvp, but I play it because the pve is so fun and the world feels alive and dangerous (though I would prefer a good pve sandbox, carebear I am:)
I just posted this a couple of days ago and it's already been pushed back to page 2. If you say you want meaningful PvP combat, take a look. You don't get much more meaning than being a pirate. Plus, the players control which areas are open for PvP through their own actions, not some pre-defined boundaries.
It's older but still one of the best...Ragnarok Online. Character building has an amzing depth to it. Skill builds, stat builds, proper gear, and player skill are all huge parts of PvP, and not a lot of MMOs can claim all of those things at once. It IS older however, and all of the 'official' servers are trash. Though...it's fairly easy to find a great...'player run' server. It's hard to get into though. The game has a lot to take in, especially when you start getting into intricate building, because it requires you to start understanding game mechanics very in-depth. It's hard to be suggested a build, mainly because most are tailored specifically to how someone plays. You CAN borrow other builds...but your best bet will always to be building specific builds for your class around your own playstyle.
Ahem, anyways i'm rambling.
Darkfall is also an interesting option.
But it's a grind, and annoying one at that. It's a little rough around the edges, but overall if you can 'get over the hump' and get close enough to endgame where you can start PKing competently, it's very fun. Especially in a guild.
I might give Rift a try. Is there something like a trial to it?
I played Ragnarok Online for 2 years, it was my first MMO . I don't like the fact that you lvl to lvl99, then get reborn and lvl to lvl99 again. I always liked the community before it was F2P, but now it's just going down.
I also tried Darkfall at release. It felt somewhat slow paced and unfinished. It took me 15 minutes to get to the first enemy. They just throw you into the world.
Uncharted Waters...hmm...never been a fan of pirates. But I might give it a try, it's free.
Thanks for the replies
Darkfall, definately give this one a shot for PvP. Two years after release, it's a very good game. As for the grind as announced yesterday it's being significantly reduced in next weeks patch along side with the offline skilling system getting a ramp up too. If that doesn't remove any 'grind' I don't know what will because it's not 'too bad' as it is.
Free trial, cheap to buy - No brainer.
I suggest Rift as well. The PvP has been the most fun of any MMO I have played to date.
