Could they not just make a game full of fail like everyone else?
Why did they have to create a well made and polished game?
Since Beta4 ended ive struggled to play any other game.
I can't log into lotro, ive uninstalled WAR, DF, FE & Vanguard after short attempts at their trials.
Im screwed... no mmorpgs until feb 24th.
Guess this is what hell is like.

I sort of know how you feel. I've been loggin into LOTRO but since there is nothing that I "really" have to work on and I'm at level cap, I just do small stints of game play for a few hours here and there.
I can't seem to log into any other game as I'm just awaiting the next beta.

Tried logging into VG today. Couldn't stand more than 20 minutes. Played some F.E.A.R extraction point. Couldn't put more than 10 minutes into it. Loaded up Fallout 3 for about 3 minutes.
Nothing is holding my interest whatsoever. Tuesday is far away
Been TRYING to concentrate on LotRO, but I'm in the same boat. I JUST WANT TO PLAY RIFT. :P
I just want to explore the game and give everything a go. I'm so impatient to begin with, the 24th seems like a century from now.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THISSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!! lol I cannot play a THING without uninstalling it... I REFUSE to play any MMO until this game is released. I guess until that time, I will go back to playing Napoleon: Total War ;P
Dude i can't quest in regular games because i miss the rifts and invasions.
I know people talk about phasing and other tech pushing the questing mechanic further but nothing beats teaming up with people in a game world and kicking the shit out of those crazy ass rifts.
its like how mmorpgs used to be, how you went into an area and actually grouped with people. Its really nice.
And its something every god damn mmorpg is missing when it comes to the questing experience.

That mechanic looks like the public quests in WAR. Isn't that kinda similar? Just asking because I am very interested in Rift with all the buzz it's created.
yeah but its not static and the difficulty scales with zone population. Pqs were just there and most of the time you were stuck soloing the first tier. in rift you will get solo rifts if noone is in the area.

It's much more dynamic than that.
The Rifts can spawn invasions (or invasions can just happen, travel and then set up a foot hold), scale to the area and can take out npc's.
In some ways I would say that if you are a player who just wants to peacefully grab quests, do them, turn them in, do more of them, the Rifts will get in the way. To me this is a good thing. I'm not sure I'm going to be doing all that much questing as the quests or "ok" at best. I found I had a lot more fun just wandering around the land and fighting invasions.
Was even invited to a few groups as I was playing a tank and some healers found it was easier to heal me that way. It's very social in some ways.
Of course you don't have to be in a group to participate or get rewards. I usually just show up.

I haven't tried any of the betas yet, and judging from all your responses, I'm glad I didn't!
The game sounds awesome. I have only read a few articles about the features, and it sounded kinda cool, but I wasn't blown away, so I never really looked further into it.
Now that I'm reading such pleasant feedback about the rifting and the group play and the dynamic difficulty rating, I think I'm going to have to pick it up. Tuesday it launches? 1/25/11?

That's so far away... reminds me of sitting and waiting for Aion all over again. is Beta 5 open or will I have to preorder?

Trues! Im having a problem too... i have playtime for DCUO, AOC and FFXIV (DCUO Free and FFXIV Still free..) Aoc because i have a computer that can handle it now. But still im not really interested in them... I might play couple quests forward and then get the "meh" feeling.

I've played the four betas so far, but RIFT just hasn't been able to capture me, which makes me sad because i was SO looking forward to it for over a year. Thankfully i still like playing LOTRO and STO, not to mention numerous sp games. At least i'm not sufferin like many of you guys, anxiously awaiting the release of this game.
lol me to .. for the 1st time in years i have no subs to any MMO .... Unsubbbed the others i had , for lack of interest to log in since playing Rift Betas..

I am with you guys too - Rift is the first MMO I have played in a long time that really dug its hooks in - before any accuses me of being paid to say this I will shut up now. Looking forward to Beta 5 on Tuesday as well
As for beta keys...we are getting either 500 or 5000 sometime this weekend. If 500 it will be a really quick (24 hour) entry random draw sweepstakes (per the request of the community from our last 500 key handouts going so crazy fast). If we get 5000 (what I am pushing hard for) it will be first come, first served. So stay tuned!

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem... I can't play any other game after the last Rift beta... Even Dragon Age Orgins has lost it's taste, and that is my favorite game!

Count me in as well. I really didn't think I'd like Rifts but this game just grows on you. Got into Forsaken World beta after waiting 8 months and uninstalled it after an hour. One of the most boring games I've ever played. I keep looking at the Rift site and hoping that they bump the date up.

Rifts are great for me the only thing that kills it is when 5+ lvl 20 are doing the lvl 9 rift.. and they last 2-3 mins.. not very fun. But thats in beta and I hoped fixed at launch.
