question and a whine

Firstly i have never played EQ2 but i know its garbage.

 

Ok,i thought i better post that firstly as it seems the only way to introduce ones self on this board

I played DAOC for 3 yrs but with the advent of TOA i gave up, why?,because i am a casual gamer,now not a once a week casual gamer but an every night 2hrs a night casual gamer.I found when TOA arrived and i spent 3 weeks every evening trying to kill/wait for spawn/hope it drops ,i cant even remember the mobs name now but i was after a healing cloak,and i realised i just wasnt having fun,ahh thats it the claok was called Healers embrace,still cant remeber the mobs name.

Fast forward to now.

For the last 5 evenings,i have been waiting for Soulspike to spawn,this was after 3 nights waiting for Garreg Stonecrusher to spawn,now i am doing the right things and i am in the right place ,but man it gets boring real fast.This is going to kill the game for casual gamers real fast.

The question....

I am slow with my leveling i play with my wife,we have other things to do,but my fear is that if the first real dungeon has spawns that are this bad what is in store for me?,i mean how is it suposed to be "fun" to sit at a spawn point night after night.

First if you never played EQ2 and know its garbage why are you bothering even considering playing it.

Secondly if you got a wife means you are at least above 7 years old so post like an adult instead of whining on a totally unrelated topic.This is not DAoC forum .

Thirdly EQ2 has no rare spawns that are on day timer.Most quest/named mobs are all on timers under 1 hour.

dude im pretty sure the eq2 is garbage thing was a joke chill out. and he has every right in the world to explain why he left daoc if he wants to. good god some people on this forum need to chill out and realise they arent the perfect people they seem to think they are.

Oh my God,is this the sort of reply a new member can expect on these boards?

I dont realy want to get in an arguement,but please just read my post again (twice)

Firstly,that was obviously a joke,i am sorry if you couldnt see that but i even have the smiley face to indicate it.

Secondly,yes i am fully aware this is not a DAOC board,but i was presenting background story relevent to my problem with EQ2(namely the fact i didnt have time or inclination to wait for mobs that take an age to spawn)

Thirdly, I can assure you that i have waited for over 2 hrs for Soulspike to spawn,and then given up and gone to bed.To be fair i probably didnt make it clear ,when i said i have waited for 5 days i didnt mean i sat in front of my PC for 5 days,what i meant (and did mention further in my post) is that as a casual gamer i only play for a couple of hours in the evening so when i say 5 days i mean 5 evenings for about 2 hrs at a time maybe a bit more maybe a bit less,but a hell of a lot more than the 1hr you state.

Now i hope that is clearer for you,anyway back to my origanal question,am i destined to spend many more nights waiting for Mobs to spawn as i get further into the game,seeing as i only play for a couple of hours in an evening,am i right to assume the further i get into the game,the worse these things will be?

unfortunatly we do have people like that on our boards. but not all of us are. so far i personly havent had any long camps like that yet. but im only lvl 22 so who knows in the high end game. every named spawn i have had a quest to kill hs been redily available so far.

I almost jumped on you too Tio. The I read it a second time and I was like "ooooh, I'm retarded." Sometimes it just gets frusturating when these kids come on here and post crap like that and really mean it.

yeah thats why i did it,seen so many posts about how crap EQ2 is from people who havent played it,anyway in hindsight maybe that was a mistake.
