Hide equipment?

MundusMundus Member UncommonPosts: 237

Hey, I wondered whether you could hide equipment. Just like in Lotro where you have several sets of a equipment. One that you actually wear and one that is displayed as if you would wear it. Well or something along those lines.

This is because I've created a hero that looks exactly as I want him to look already. I don't want the look to be destroyed by any single item, be it vests, boots, gloves or even a cape.

So is this possible?

When you have inventory window up, the second icon from the left (a mask) is your style icon, you can lock your different appearance slots from here, meaning you can still equip the difference gear for stats without altering appearance. Also once you have equiped an item you can then select it from the drop down on relevant slot (head, chest, etc) at any point from then on.

Thanks a bunch. I just can't seem to get the hang of the UI. Everythings feels terribly clumsy to me. Oftentimes I do really feel kind of helpless. I hope I manage to lock my original custume then. :D

My problem was I didn't lock the original before I put new stuff on and it LOST the original.  Not a big deal as you collect it throughout your adventuring but it didn't make any sense that some of my winged characters suddenly flew around with backpacks... very disconcerting for names like Cupid, the Parrot, and whatnot.

I'm not 100% as I can only speak from my own experience but I also forgot to lock the first time I swapped gear but the orignal outfit I chose from char creation was still in my options to switch over for appearance only.

A lot of items will have different names and stats but have the same style appearance so if you're a costume freak who like lots of options, everytime you get loot, even if the stats are naff check to see if you have collected that style type (style type is displayed under the stats I think) for that slot, if not equip it in once and then put your original item back for the stats then you can sell the loot but always have the style available in the Style tab.

I feel like a shill for SOE, I need to go take a bath... in acid.

Tbh like a few areas in the game there is a deffinate lack of intuitivness, the char creation for example skips so many options if you don't know they're there. I know it's due to the console stuff but with nearly all complaints about this game being the UI they are getting slack for something they could rectify, pretty much all the issues I have with the game are related to UI and lack of clarity.

The original clothing is there just check each slot and the drop the options and you will see each item you have collected so far try each out until you get the one you started out with.  Choose it then when you get all of it back lock it.
