I played Darkfall from release up until 6 months ago and quit for no particular reason other then just burnt out. I never auto swam or macrod more then a few brief sessions of experimenting with auto it. So my stats and magic are not very good from playing for a year and a half. . I now feel like 6 months of not playing has put me too far behind in terms of stats and spells to compete.
I feel if the grind for stats was reduced by 75% and the magic grind reduced by 50% I would resub.
My character is Exx ohh on NA
EDIT: "In this patch there are significant changes to the meditation system as far as progression speed goes and cost. New skills will be available for meditation. There will also be a significant increase to overall skill gains in this patch"

Are you serious?
If you read the blogs, you can`t leave now. Soon a player can accually play this game without AFK swimming and macroing. The pvp can accually be fun in less than 6 months of boring grind.

-In this patch there are significant changes to the meditation system as far as progression speed goes and cost.
- New skills will be available for meditation.
-There will also be a significant increase to overall skill gains in this patch,
-Following shortly after this patch there are plans to give players free meditation points,
- also add stat gain to meditation.
-The second prong has to do with a competitive component on a completely level playing field for all players.
-We are looking deep into the “grind”:
Atleast try the next patch before you leave. If it decrease the level grind for new players, tell you friends to join you. If AV fail to address the level grind yet again, you can leave and never look back.
Haha I actually stumbled across that right after creating this thread. Rejoice!
I think a lot of former DF players are watching and waiting to see what happens with this patch and the "even playing field."
I don't see that as solving the problem. The problem is that it's too stat-centric. So they cut the grind in half or down to a tenth, it's still a game that has built in grind.
That's ok, it's a niche and I don't want to change what people like, but I wish it had a reasonable development time and then equality in PvP. The game is awesome if the playing field is level.
This is one of the two areas I think crush this game, the other being that PvE is so small.
I'd have ten times the PvE, all open with contested goals, no instancing, and 1/10 the grind for stats/skills with an end to the grind in a reasonable time.
