It's time for the good old God of Rock to bring his PC gaming into 2011. I would like to purchase a gaming mouse. One of those mice that have a crazy amount of buttons on them. Price range under 100 bones because the god of rock has a goddess that will kick the gods ass if he spends too much on a mouse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Peace m/

I recently bought a Razer Deathadder copy off ebay, and was amazed because it's actually better quality than the original. Apparently it's one of the biggest selling mice in China. Worth keeping in mind as you continue your search.

The Razer Naga has more buttons to push than your "Goddess". How many macro's does one need on one mouse? Who knows. But the Naga should have enough.

I agree, I use a naga and it's top shelf!
Same here, i have the razer naga and i love it so far.
He that lives upon Hope dies farting.
I bought the Naga, and while it is a great mouse, I found it awkward for my big hand to use efficiently, so I traded it in for the Imperator which I am enjoying so far.
I've been very happy with the logitech G5 for several years now.
Naga! It is great. But as someone said, if you have big hands then you might want to look elsewhere.

Have you looked into a gamepad? I know it's not a mouse, but I've looked at the Naga, which looks amazing, but I don't think I could switch from my gamepad which is SO easy to use and you can hotkey up to 51 commands to it. My favorite is the Nostromo N52 Speedpad which can be had (used) on ebay for $25. Or you can get a new N52TE (personally not a fan but some people love it) for $45, also on ebay.
Just a thought. Not as cool as a great mouse, of course, but probably a lot more functional.
I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!
Oh... and I also have semi-big and clumsy hands which is another reason I'm very comfortable with a gamepad.

You got a goddess kicking your ass in my home my husband is never allowing me to buy mouse or keyboard and arguing with me. I want to get the naga but I already have a G500 logitech which has 8 (10-2 which is left and right mouse) customizable buttons 3 by the side of the thumb two where the dpi those dpi can be reset too 1-0 on action bar and the scroll it too can be reset to left press, right press and centre press . So that is 8 buttons but all over the place and not organized like the Razer Naga. However the positions are easily reachable and may be the positions help you categorize your actions like heal on the thumb side and attack on the 3 scroll buttons and so on.

There should be drivers at the official site!

edit: might not be the newest drivers, check the whole site.
Alright guys/gals thanks for all the help. The Naga looks like the perfect mmo mouse. Can't wait to get that mofo.

lol, i wish i hadn't looked at this thread. Because of it I just bought a new mouse and keyboard. I looked at alot of reviews and such and chose the.
cyborg rat 7 mouse
cyborg gaming keyboard
I more or less had to get one with the other since I like having matching equipment.
I self identify as a monkey.
Yeah the RAT7 mice are very nice.
Has anyone tried the Logitech G700? It doesn't have nearly as many buttons as the Razer Naga, but the buttons it does have seem to be setup pretty well.

I have been looking at the Rat7 for awhile too. It looks like just the kind of mouse I'd like, but it's hard to justify when I have four or five different razer mice laying around.
*edit* There's also a Logitech G13 Gamepad which looks pretty nice too (plus it's a Logitech).

That's what I recommend. Been using it since Sept and I love it. It's a touch on the heavy side if you prefer a light mouse but being able to customize the way it fits is what really sold it for me.
I was going to advise the Razor Mamba, so farI have had it for 2 years now and never had a problem. Though the Naga is essentially the Mamba with macro buttons, so an all-around good purchase and hope you like it!
The Razer DeathAdder is the same body as the Naga and the Mamba, but it's wired and less expensive. I got a Mamba for Christmas last year or the year before and it's still my mouse of choice. I also have the DeathAdder (red Voodoo Gaming Edition) that I took to work because I had to do something with it. I have trouble using other people's mice now though because they all move so slow.

Unless the idea is to have mountains of buttons to press for MMOs (macros can simply be kept on one's keyboard, as with my Sidewinder X4), the RAT 7 and the Logitech G500/G700 are probably the best mice on the market right now.
The RAT 7 has customizability going for it if you're willing to take the time to set it up, while those particular Logitech mice have excellent sensors, and the G700s dual wired/wireless ability is nice (though you lose the G500s customizable weights).
There's a lot more to mice than how many buttons one can cram on.

I actually went with Razer for my headset. The Carcharias is really rather nice, and didn't break the bank at $55
The issue is not moving one's hand all over a keyboard if one can avoid it.
I have to say the Razer naga was the mouse I invented in my head before it was ever marketed. I always wanted a mouse that I could access all the number keys with my thumb but never saw anything. Oh sure they had two side buttons but that wasn't enough. I like keeping my hands firmly on my move buttons and firing off abilities without ever changing hand positions.
As long as one is intelligent about how they use the naga it could be a great fit for some people.
I say "intelligent" because I think some people are just going to map their skills in an order and not think about tiring the hand.
For me, any ability that I do many times over and over is put on a button that falls naturally for my hand. Any ability that is used less often I put on a button that is a bit less natural. In this way I don't hurt my hand or wrist. One has to experiment a bit with what feels "right". I approach the buttons of the Naga much like I approach a musical instrument.
In any case, I'll never own another mouse again unless it's similar.
