Anyone knows do we know for sure that US and EU gonna play on 1 single server? I want to play the game my friends from states, so wondering is it safe to buy EU version of the game....
Comments
Yes its one server located on the East Coast of the USA.
It's one single server for the whole world actually. Not only EU and US, but Aussies, Russians, Afrikans, etc aswell
Will be nice for sieges...to be able to have people in clan playing around the clock that is.

That and i hate that you have 2 regions... Like with APB, we had good players but they chose to play on EU servers for better connection... I still played US APB and it was fine, still was accused of hacking, so ping was not that bad... Fallen Earth has same concept with 1 server, and they are doing really fine...
Am I the only one who hates the idea? That's one of the main reasons I can't force myself to come back to Fallen Earth. Ever tried pvping (especially in mmofps) with a ping 200 against a person with ping 50? Unless you are much better skilled / geared than him you have no chance. The pvp isn't that fun as well...
Another title I'll be skipping as a EU player

So glad everyone is playing on the same server
While this is a game that uses *some* twitch aiming; it is not something like CS:S where you're required to have the lowest possible ping. I would have to say unless you're using dial up from the EU, you shouldn't have any issues.
As for your question about playing 200ms vs 50ms; yes, I did it while Darkfall only had 1 EU server, and I did just fine.
I believe the Siege will have timer, i am not sure how many siege there will be in a day, but if it's like twice a day, i can see a fast rolling of Siege base
what i mean is, for example, in the Morning, US players can dominate the siege, take all the bases, then comes night, when all the US players are off to bed, the Oceanic player ( if there is any ) or some part of EU comes on and take the defenseless base, i can see this just going on and on, so i dont think in ER, you can actually hold a base for more than a day
this is just my speculation
So What Now?
Yea, I meant as far as when you can drop a siege...but maybe the mechanic doesn't work like that. I'm thinking its like Darkfall where you have to drop a stone, then 22 hours the siege starts. Sometimes clans would wait till the middle of the night to drop the stone...so the siege would take place in the middle of the night the following day..if your clan is all from one area, makes it very hard to defend. So my thought was if you have an EU part in th clan, then a US part in the clan...covers all time zones.

Hopefully Seiges take place more then 2 a day.. Thats one thing i couldnt stand about AION is that forts never went vulnerable, sometimes they wouldnt do anything for 2 days in a row and the timers were random.. I love the idea of places being able to be seiged around the clock, gathering some buddies in the wee hours of the night and bum rushing the enemies territory in a sneak attack.. That's how EvE does it and it works well and makes for tons of chaos!

A big feature that I enjoyed about AC, UO and really like about EVE Online is that there are no region restrictions. To me, it's not squares miles of map that make a virtual worlsd seem massive, but the ability to expeience so many cultures during my time in the game world.
I welcome any game world that allows me to team up with or battle against people from all across the globe.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
