    What are you saying?

    That if you buy the game, you can't play Archetypes?

    Or that you can't play two Archetypes out of all the available ones?

    Either would be a shame, since the "customizabiliity" of the game is hwat they are trying to sell it on to you.

    (I played the sub version about a year ago and I do miss the custom options)

    I'm just saying that even if I'm not paying the monthly fee now.. I did pay I believe $40.00 at the games release, hell I even recruited a friend who bought the game.  I just think it would be nice/cool if cryptic would honor the players who dished out their hard earned cash.. with SOMETHING.  The only difference between my account and a brand new free silver one.. is that mine cost me 40$ to make....

    These arnt "free to play games"  they are more like expanded free trials which pretty much all MMO's will be soon.

    And in case you've lived in a hole for the past few years when Sub MMO's go F2P they almost always improve drastically.  

    so by refusing to play them out of principle means your missing out in a big way.

    CO has only just gone F2P so I dont expect it will be much better, but give it a few months and they might be able to turn it into the game it should have been.  ESP since DC looks like another fail

    Does not change anything ... you do not get any support in any case. Does not matter if you are silver or gold member. When I quit nearly 1 year ago 99% of tickets ended not being serviced for aprox 3 weeks, then arrived dumb computer generated response or workaround that had nothing to do with original problem. CO had worst support ever.

    Now I'm back (guess for month or two) and I find it fun again but after few days waiting for ticket to be serviced does not look to me anything has changed to better. Btw, I'm gold member.  At first I just wanted to try but fast found to play normally my old alts need to subscribe.

    And for now I'm not sorry. But feels kinda stupid doing again same quests in desert I allready completed when desert was starter area. Have been reset as they have changed city to be first are for lowbies.

    So, I'm going to come to Cryptic's defense here (shocking, I know!) using a decision tree (and the sketchy table system of the forums).


     

    outcome a. Don't sub, never going to play CO -- Draw, move along.

    Condition 1. Never subbed to Champions Online Before <

    outcome b. Don't sub, get to play the game content for free -- Positive!

     

    outcome c. Sub, Get to play the content with full character customization -- Positive!

     -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


     

    outcome a. Don't Sub, never going to play CO again -- Draw, move along

    Condition 2. Previously subbed to CO, let it run out <

    outcome b. Don't sub, get to play game content for free - Positive!


     

    outcome c.  Sub, Get to play game content with full character customization and whole gallery of (Gold) heroes -- Positive!

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


     

    outcome a. Don't return to game -- Draw, move along.

    I must admit here that support is much faster and better now. I got response for few petitions in max 3 days. Ok, ok, ... not top I know, but is incredible improvement from my experience aprox 1 year ago.
