Kind of a short trial thing they have going on, but it was enough to impress me.  I think I could get used to playing this game. :-)

They have created an incredible world.

I got to lvl 31 and quit. Was a bit disappointed though it looks great and all I guess it just wasnt what i expected from the previews and vids before they launched..

To be honest what got me was the grind. I played it before they added all the patches and changes they have now, which they tell me reduce the grind. But it left too big of a scar for me to go back :( And there are more mmos on the way :)

Good luck indeed.  I got up to 41 and then threw in the towel.

I must warn you, though... NCSoft seems to have put much more design effort in the 1-10 content, so don't be suprised when you get to the other lands and find them boring, barren, or just plain ugly.

I do have to mention that I think Aion has the best combat to offer in any fantasy-based MMORPG.    The skillchain system is brilliant, and the animations/sound effects are gorgeous... Killing mobs and players in and of itself is gratifying the same as it's gratifying to beat up someone in Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.   The combat engine is actually FUN.  The only reason the game felt grindy (to me) is because the XP bar is visible, and I could clearly see how little I was gaining towards the next level.   Not even that would have bothered me if there was more PVE content in the game, but that isn't/wasn't the case.

It's a very competitive game, so getting leveled up so you don't get stomped all day feels crucial. There stands the wall that I ran into.

Oh, and the flight mechanic is a joke.  They can chop up all the bs they want to explain it... using lore, or other excuses to justify why my divine character has wings, but can't fly unless in certain areas, and even then, is on a flight TIMER.    ridiculous.

This is not a troll, flame, or anything else worth banning me over. It is simply my pure opinion, and I have a right to share it.

Ok i guess I have to say positive things about the game.

The world they created is really awesome and I think you will really enjoy it. Also there were some grinding issue at the games early stage but now thats a thing of the past. Even today there was a patch to help with crafting and make it more streamline. Alot of people have come back to the game including myself and I'm impressed with the changes the game has made. The leveling curve is a lot smoother and endgame is alot more fun!  Dispite what these people may say you be the judge and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

How's the PvP? still only the abyss? That was fun at first but it also gets kinda old fast. It turns out to be a bit of a mess and just random encounters that are won by numbers instead of skill(most of the time). They needed some sort of organized pvp.

Pvp is better with the new pvp area that came with the last expansion. Rifts are being worked on and the abyss still is seeing its share of action. Also there are two Dredgions now. One for level 46-50 and another for 51-55. Dredgion is more skill based cause they are two groups going at each other. Over all it is better but I still think there needs to be a lower level Dredgion type pvp situation.

Yeah, that trial is a joke.  I think it's basically just to see how it runs on your computer.  The game doesn't even start until you hit level 10.
