Seriously, why should we, who are not bound to an NDA, not be able to post second hand info that you hear from people under NDA?
I could care less about an NDA which I did not sign but I do want to know what is going on in games so why not start a WikiLeak site for MMORPGs?

There still are such sites... maybe not only for mmorpg´s, but they are existing.
You can find plenty of exploit, cheat and hack sites with that kind of info, as those are the type of people most liekly to condone and promote going that route.

I'm sorry but this is a rather brain dead thread. The reason for any company to release a beta is for players to help test and detect any problems or bugs. By doing this they can shorten the time it takes to polish the product if they had to do the testing themselves. The NDA is a necessary agreement that protects what the company wishes to be kept unknown such as special features. By doing this they can maintain a hype around their product.
What you suggest would eventually result in a longer waiting time as we would no longer be able to participate in any Betas.
Nonsense, the companies would still have beta tests, as beta leaks currently exists. We just need a site to collect them all. After all, what interest do I have in what a company wants to keep secret?
They want my money? Well I want full info about their products. Including what went down during alpha/beta testing.
My gaming blog
Well guess what? that info is none of your buisness unless you participated, and doubt they care if they lose one sale because of it.
Really, beta/alpha info has absolutely no use to anyone thats not in it, as all that matters to someone buying the game is whats in the game when its released.
Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"
Sig typo fixed thanks to an observant stragen001.
If we're paying money for it, it's our business.
You are NOT paying for information from the production process, just the product, nothing more.
Can you give us examples of some industries where the general public, who has no current financial investment in the product, is entitled to design and development information based on the possibility that they might one day in the future purchase it?

You would have full and complete information about a product after it launches. I would love to have more information on games before they launch, but the end result of having information before they launch and having information after they launch is exactly the same. Not only that, but people are informed about stuff before games launch anyway. If somebody wants the game, they're going to buy it, no matter how much bad press or hype it receives. It doesn't seem to change anything.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Just stop following the hype and wait until the game and opnions of the players are out.
If a game is good we will probably hear of it anyway, the rest are just time fillers at best.
Gaming is sort of like the entertainment industry. There are no real news, just methods of hyping your product.
Betaleaks.com used to exist for this purpose. It wasn't long before the lawsuits started flying and the site was shutdown.
Snakes on a Plane
So a new wikileaks to try to get innocent people fired, unlike the real wikileaks, which tries more to get innocent people killed?
As much as I like to see information sooner, the NDA is there for a reason.
I support this idea! Darkness only breed worms. Let there be light! Away with this false sense of secrecy and the lies and misleadings it causes.
People don't ask questions to get answers - they ask questions to show how smart they are. - Dogbert
Really?
All I want to know is if the product that is released will be worth my money. Why should I care what goes down in alpha/beta testing if I aint part of it?
Overall why do we have people into games that let other people decide what to play, as in wanting to know what went down in alpha or beta without the experiance themself. It's like player A is saying game X is fail so player B will not buy the game due to what player A is saying.
But please explain why it might be important to know what has been going down in alpha or beta so I might change my mind.
Innocent people fired ?
What about a no BS - no Rip off game industry ?
Innocent people killed ?
What about no phony wars for oil in the first place ?
Too much Fox news type propaganda heh ? go out experience the world for urself .

A website like wikileaks for games would be tantamount to industrial espionage. It would be like leaking company secrets and future product lines before the official announcements. Not only would that be illegal it would be highly unethical and would do much more harm than good.
This is just so distasteful.
If someone offers to show you their work but tell you that the condition is that you don't speak about it, and you agree, then that should be the end of that provided that what they show you doesn't run on babies or doesn't cause diseases.
So first of all you shouldn't be shown anything.
I really don't see the issue.
If you don't hear about a game don't buy it. You aren't 6. You are an adult and can make decisions and I'm sure you can decide that any company that keeps info from players, especially close to release, might not be a good product to buy. So don't.
We have control over how we spend our money. The "I want to know now" issue is a bit of human nature and a bit remnants of grade school angst over not knowing what you were getting for christmas.

lol What a load of condescending BS.
NDA's should be illegal in the first place.
It's mainly a corporate tool to have free unpaid mute testers & it comes down to this :
"Our game is about to be released broken but keep your mouth shut while we advertize & cash on the pre-sales"
At the end of the day, good games sale, bad games don't . NDA or not.
Truth & transparency : scary innit ?

You really beleive is is to TEST the game?I thought most by now realize it has become a standard marketing tool and a measure of hype to determine how many servers they will need.
I know NDA is securing the properties it owns,we should sort of honor that, but at the same time, how about when these devs outright lie to us about their product?Bt telling others what to expect, really removes all chances the dev can LIE to us about their product, and although they might refute the lying, they definitely stretch the truth a LOT !.
This is bad because the law protects the dev/publishers not the consumers.Once you open software they claim you are not owed a refund. Then you have outlets like Steam that if you try a CC refund, they can and will ban your whole account,so you would lose everything,so again consumer not protected, seller is.
Maybe when one day the law is as fair for consumers as it is for publishers and developers, there might be a little less rebellion.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Didn't mean it to come off as condescending but if you took it that way so be it.
I find everything i said to be truth.
"our game is about to be released broken but keep your mouth shut while we advertize & cash on the pre-sales"
Responsible consumer: "hmmm, I haven't heard a lot about this game and the game goes for $50.00+. Maybe I should wait until it's out before I make a purchasing decision.
Nope, still sounds good to me.
At what point do consumers actually take responsibility for their decisions?
"At the end of the day, good games sale, bad games don't . NDA or not. "
Yup. So what's the issue? wait, until release and the reviews and the nda is up, read, make your decision. The cream will rise to the top.
Sorry, but all of this sounds like people have assumed a sense of entitlement where there isn't any.
They don't give you info? You don't buy. Simplest thing around.

There is one site I found that has some leaked info and I go to quite often, but I won't link it or name it, don't want to get banned.

There are some places dedicated to beta leaks, even on mmorpg's, just you dont know about them, go search on google.
