I've played beta for a little bit and I'm impressed by the skill system; however, it appears that the beta has less exp gain than the product will at launch. This makes it difficult to test the game fully as killing mobs is dull (AI is bad) and only gives like 8 exp for where I am. Has anyone gotten into the skill system to actually test out a good chuck of the skills? Do the various types of build work like they sound on paper?

Sadly most people haven't for the reason you mentioned, the BP grind is awful right now. Thier fixing it in the new patch that is suppose to come out very soon...
Heh well actually that was changed last big patch.. Before that, BP/CP were a dime a dozen, and you got tons of it off kills/quests/crafting.. Stuff didn't cost very much (couple hundred BP for tier3 armor, for instance) - So we could easily unlock many things and test.. In 2 weeks of very casual play, I had most skills for the assault gun, the Core nano device, some railgun, launcher and tactical rifle skills, everything at tier4, and my crafter could happily make whatever, just making the parts got enough cp to learn the next recipe (at the time there was no money cost). It was ridiculously too easy to skill up lol
This build was painful.. a very drastic change. We're expecting a fixed number build any day now (we hope!)
