I would really like to see GW2 for the PS3, with a custom made controller just for GW2. Would be awesome!
GW2 looks like a console game but 100x better, so this would be the best thing they could do the get console gamers into the game and i will buy a PS3 in February, tired of my PS2.

Already confirmed to be only PC.
That's a bad move for ArenaNet, if it's true. I never heard them say it will never be for PS3, last time i checked they said they will think about it.
What platforms will Guild Wars 2 be available on?
Guild Wars 2 is being developed for the PC.
http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/game-faq/#thirteen
PC only.
Until we hear different, it is just for the pc.
Right now it is only PC but anything could happen of course.
While we know it will be for PC only, it would be cool to see some kind of GW related content for consoles. My personal favorite idea on the subject would be a Tactics Ogre like game exploring the three Guild Wars before the plot of the first game--could be a really good game on XBL, PSN (PS# and PSP), Flash, Android and iOS platforms.
Also, it is really fun playing GW with a gamepad (I use a Wiimote via GlovePIE); adds a lot of challenge for when the nubs in RA are not putting up a good fight. Should be even more of a challenge for GW2 with the dodge/manual aim--a challenge I look forward to programming a PIE script for.
If ArenaNet get thousands of requests to start developing it for PS3 also, they will probably do it. Why are everyone like " If ArenaNet says so, it is so". You know, we can give feedback and they listen.
Yes to bad its not announced to PS3 yet
I currently playing DCOU on PS3 after 13 years of playing MMO infront of an computer.
And i must predict Next gen MMO's "Will be consol based" SOE once again ground breaking with something new to the MMO world
No Signature
Next gen MMO's will most likely not be console based because the abilities of a PC far outstrip those of any gaming console out there.
Well you can already hook up a mouse and keybaord to the ps3 so why not, i would always prefer my PC for playing games as i got one hell of a beast to play on
Dunno if arenanet will port it tough, but how knows :P
Your right they whould probably do it
and thats in my opinion is why all MMO's Fail today they listen to much on the crowd instead of stick with their own visions and goal.
As a wise man once said... "it doesn't mather how much you trying to please others you can never please enoough. So start listen to your self instead, you will gain more"

No. as a Dev, its easier to release polished games set up for one gaming rigg instead of several thousends of them.
So your wrong here comparing a PC which comes in thousend diffrent settings and hardwares instead of a gaming rigg made for a single purpouse with one hardware to take care about.
So i still stick to my prediction

That's not entirely true either.
As of today, a PC MMO will out sell a console MMO by far. So yea, they could ship ONLY to console and make a small profit, or ship to a bunch of PC's and make a huge profit.
PC's have a huge variety, but the distances between them are not that great. GPU's and CPU's just get more, they get don't get different.
Old cards are just slower and smaller when compared to modern cards. There was nothing drastically change, save for a few added technology, and even then, the technology was just upgraded.
It's not a bad move by ArenaNet. Either make a game for PC or make it for Console. If made for both, almost always one will suffer. Not to mention porting takes time, time we gamers don't really want to wait for.
The problem with making it for a console is PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii. You don't have that problem with a PC. With a PC you just make the game accessible and chances are that if someone doesn't have a rig that can play it then they can upgrade or just go out and buy a new one.
how can you really say that ..a console like a ps3.. is like better than probly 80% of the people that have computers..why do i say that..not to be harsh but 80% if not more play wow and you dont need jack to push it..+ theres tonz of kiddies that play it..meaning that daddys are not buying those kiddies $1000 PC's ...much better to put mmo's on a ps3 than anything out there..they just have to REALLY make sure that the product is TRUELY ready to release..or just release it on pc for people to beta test it then release it for people that like it for pc..then ignore it..then focus totally on console....wich is what they are doing with DC as we speak..so yea..i hope more "real type mmo's" come to ps3..i dont include DC as any type of true mmo..more of a mmoag ag = action game
I hope you don't actually think that 80% of computers are worse than a ps3 and that 80% of people with computers play WoW.
just saying that cuz 80% if not more of the mmo world are playing wow..i mean i hate wow..but its prolly the truth..or maybe right on that mark..its sad to hear i know..but prolly true..i havent played wow in years..never cared for it..but its still pumping people for money and still have tonz of subs...also..grafic cards are being released so quickly..its almost impossible to keep up with..why keep upgradeing / adding stuff to your pc when all you need is right there in front of you in a console..dont get me wronge i play both..im not saying but im just saying lol
oh and i do bet if there was some kind of mmo pie chart.. a huge chunk of it would be colored in "wow" yet again its sad..but its the truth as of now
any mmo who wants to invade the console market will need to solve the great mystery of socialisation, the chatbox just does not work on a console, plugging in a keyboard is a bit awkward. Maybe letting a two player mode where two characters can be logged in on one ps3 and play together. with heavy support on voice chat.
ps: DCUO, while being a great game, absolutely failed at the socialisation in both pc and ps3 version of the game, not offering a different UI for PC, while never planned to have cross platformed action, is completely stubborn and stupid.
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
Yes this is the biggest problem with MMO's going to console, is the lack of ability to communicate.
Although seems most people prefer to solo mmos, lol
I don't think you understood what I meant. I didn't say computers are better than ps3's. I said, MMO's sell better on PC than consoles. We have statistical proof of this... from EQ up to present day DC.
Seriously, from a profit stand point, PC games make more money, if they are online. CoD, BF, DC... they just do.
Another thing, games like GW and LoTRO have been enhancing graphics since launch. This is not possible at all with a PS3. Unless of course you enhance from PS3 to PS4, which is a different story.
Then also think about how long it takes to make an MMO. MMO's take more time than ANY other genres. With that, let's say an average of 4 years... how sure are you that the PS3 or PS4 will last 4 years?
Say you make a game for the PS4 right now (pretend we know what it is.) And the PS4 launches in one year. So when you launch the game, the console is already 3 or 4 years old. Which is great... but then say the PS5 is announced. So in the end, your game is 2 years old, and it's console is already 6 years old. The MAIN problem, is that MMO are meant to last for a long time. How long before you have to make a sequel for the PS5?
Obviously with PC, this is not an issue. You already see the trend of pc hardware. You can predict whats coming, and even if you can't, you can just build it for highend systems. In 4 years, those highend systems become medium-ish. But they aren't last-gen.
DC sold more for the PS3 then PC so far so mmo selling better on PC is not really true.
And actual figures you dont know as there arent really console only mmo's yet.
They are coming though, NCSoft signed an agreement with PS3 to make PS3 exclusive titles and Turbine is working on a console mmo and undead labs are making an console only mmo too.
It would be really far fetched to see this game for the PS3 considering it is one of the most difficult consoles to develop for since sony doesn't like to make intuitive tools for developers. Games almost never work out for the PS3 unless it is exclusive, because you have to be exclusive to reach the full hardware potential of the PS3. This game has better chances of going to the 360 because atleast microsoft makes it easy to port games between the 360 and the PC. Although I doubt it would be for any console because you also have to deal with the interface challenges of the consoloe ontop of the hardware limitation. If I had any hope for expanded hardware it would be the Mac, because it would be nice to pull my mac friends into the game.
If you mean groundbreaking as bringing mmo's to console then SOE is behind Phantasy star online for about 10 years
Actually sony did the first MMO on the PS2 called Everquest Online Adventures.
