I've been very impressed with the beta so far. I haven't had any dropped connections, and haven't experienced a single glitch. There have been a few small things that I've reported on, but I'm happy to say they're just little quibbles, like a typo or two in quest text. One suggestion I offered was to have the standard "ask a guard for directions" feature that EQ1/2, WoW, and others have for finding trainers and specific vendors. Other than that, not bad at all! I pre-ordered.

Good beta, they seem like a pretty professionally run outfit. As for the game it's pretty well executed but I can't see it as any more than a filler for me right now.
Barring endgame issues, this game stands to be a solid medium pop game for a long time.
Nothing new, other than the versatility of the soul system, and mabey AOE looting.
Nothing terrible about it however.
Gamebryo engin runs well, the game looks nice on a decent system, and if they actually invest in the game, and improve it without messing the game as a whole up, yeahm it does stand to be a solid medium pop game.
They seemed very conservative with rift, not shooting for anything crazy or new and untested, its your standard mmo and should be familir and easy to jump into for really anyone.
Those expecting ground shattering next-gen...well anything were really dissapointed, but i cant help but think theres people are destined for dissapointment in any game they try.

what is a next gen MMO anyway? I havent seen a single MMO that would classify as next gen yet, judging by what MMORPG.com users are looking for (than again I have no idea what they are looking for, must be why nothing next gen has come out yet...)

Yeh great beta, and a great game. Shocked the hell out of me. Especially when I bought my second spec. Wish I'd done that earlier. So much variety possible in class builds.

I think it's cool people can say they don't like the game, but the betas were pretty damn good. The population was a ton, and they didn't do bad with so many pushing the servers.
Plus the game wasn't just 1-10 or something so people couldn't tell if there was nothing past that.
