This seems backwards to me. Doesn't the beta usually come after the alpha?

I know Alpha players that are partaking in Endgame are under NDA so i wont bother asking about anything when it comes to that.

I just wanted to say, your a bunch of lucky bastards and I hate you.

Have fun testing and hammer that endgame out. I expect a polished and robust experience at 50.

    peace.

Alpha has been up for a long time. I know someone in it, they recently sent out more invites for it though.

This is not backwards it is simply wrong. The Alpha has been running since before the beta events started.

Er does this mean that in just short weeks this game could be all the way back to the drawing board?

Did you mean open beta stage.

Rift has a ton of players testing the entire game full time.

These people are called alpha players because they've been in the game before beta.

Their the ones making sure endgame is as polished and refined as the leveling experience.

In other words, you mean closed beta testers? Alpha testing is usually done internally in order to determine if the software meets certain requirements and is ready for beta testing.

Right now there are at least 2 tests going on. Closed beta testing, where actual testing is being done and beta testing events which are used as a form of marketing as well as stress testing the game and the servers.

For some reason Trion calls the endgame version of rift thier alpha client.

    Its confusing to be honest.

All i know is i wish i was an "alpha" tester lol.

This is the worst post in a very very long time.

Actually trying to get hundreds of un-aware people to uninstall the Beta client before the next two betas is just clear anarchist behavior and you should be ashamed to post something so clearly misleading and anti-social.

I dont think hes doing that. I know for a fact there are quite a few players testing rift fulltime.

Friends and Family Alpha started in early August.  Internal testing started in April.  As other people stated alpha is thier word for what most people call closed beta and beta is their word for what most people call open beta.  The OP should be aware Alpha testers are still under NDA and that NDA includes not telling anyone they are in Alpha.

If the NDA is anything like the Beta NDA, then it most certainly does NOT prohibit you from saying you are in Alpha... it does, however, prohibit you from discussing what is in the NDA, or that there even IS an NDA.

Abigale and other  Trion people have posted on the normal trion forums that Alpha players are not allowed to say they are even in Alpha,  That is why when so many of the prominient posters dissapeared from the normal Trion forums last summer and fall that  they could not even post or say they were in Alpha.  Abigale has acknowledged that they took the best forum posters and invited them first into Alpha to reward the people that followed the game closely.

Edit: Here is a recent post from the normal Rift boards confirming that Alpha testers cannot even say they are in alpha.

The first rule of alpha is you do not talk about alpha

There's a simple explanation for all of this, the OP is a time traveller.
