Can it prevail against all the other MMORPGs? Excluding World of Warcraft

I think it will prevail because this is one of those unique games which appears only once in a while. I love this game.

WoW is a very good game

Depends on what you mean by "prevail". If you mean totally redefine gaming and put the mmo racket out of business, then ..no. The mmo market isn't going anywhere. Like ol' pt barnum once said: there's a sucker born every minute. As long as people are willing to play to play, then pay they will, rates will just keep going up as long as the companies think they can get away with it. Most of those people are too attatched their rental investment to abandon it for a different game though.

But if, by "prevail", you mean will GW be a success in its own right and make waves in the world of online gaming, then yes. Though it's likely that it will start off kind of slow in relation to something like WoW, it'll just keep growing. WoW and EQ2 have some huge names behind them, which pretty much automatically means success even if they do suck. A lot of sales in the beginning is kind of a given for established names like that. Namebrands eventually lose their novelty if the product just isn't up to snuff though. Now ArenaNet, being such a fledgling company, still has yet to make a name for themselves. But their first title, GW, is already going a long way towards making that happen. By the time ArenaNet comes out with their second game, after GW has been out a few years, ..they'll be name people will know.

I think most people would say GW. WoW went for a more "cartoony" look. But ultimately, that's for you to decide. Look at both for yourself and decide what looks better.

It could prevail at having alot players who are tired of having to pay to play for a game that sounded and looked awsome til you got it home and played for a few months because you got bored, and then got mad at yourself because you payed(say?$30 to $100)for a game that sucked.

I think GW will eliminate that with the FREE SUB. even if the game does suck you'll  be out $50 than $100 or so and you don't have to play everyday like the ptp one's. I stopped playing SWG after 5 month's because the update were getting STUPID and it took forever to level for crying out loud.

    I'm hoping GW won't be that way I hope. but we'll see.image

DAoC? Not all its cracked up to be. PvP in DAoC is so outta whack that unless you play 24/7 and get every single high level piece of gear that's in the game you'll only get frustrated at end game. The BattleGrounds during mid level was the best experience in that game. End game stunk unless you were (dare I say it) uber. Great idea, bad execution.

I was more surprised to see Lineage 2 on that list of "awsome" games. ::::15::

Lineage 2? Ugh - hated the interface. played in beta for a bit and dumped it before release.
