I dont think there is anything that can be said to convince one to leave a favorite mmorpg. WoW was my first MMORPG. It was fun and played for about 2.5 years. Now I just pop on every now and then to see friends or the changes. But now since I have seen it and done it I like to try every MMORPG I can get my hands on. Right now I am in EQ2. So dont limit yourself to one as there are plenty of fun ones out there. Rift, so far being one. At least for me. Give the beta a try and see for yourself. Keys are still offered on this site. I'll level with you, Rifts novelty ran out for me after a mere 4 beta tests where I spent the entire first day hitting the current level cap and the second day sort of cleaning up quests and experiences the test material laid out for us.
If you still enjoy WoW, chances are that RIFT will seem sub-par to you because it really is a great game, but RIFT appeals heavily to people that are more about graphics than polish and to those that are tired of WoW or never liked it for whatever reason.
I quit WoW a year and a half ago after playing since the inception of the game, and RIFT took me about 6 days. Your choice should probably be based on if you are having fun, because you will never increase your fun by changing games especially if you are going from top to bottom in terms of progression. RIFT will more than likely hold you with it's limited thrift but after the initial newness wears off you will realize you did the exact same things in WoW, with a lot more flavor and polish involved.
