Whats with the contests? Or lack there of

MMORPG.com used to have some killer contests, full gaming rigs, video cards, hard drives, even cash or accounts to somewhat cool games.

Now it's all item shop points or keys for games with pre-pubescent elven teenage girls and/or boys. Heck, look at the game list, 70% of the crap on there is either from asia, an item shop or both.

Is there another site that's getting all the cool contests and game info? Don't get me wrong, I love MMORPG.com, but I feel that it is being overtaken by the mass garbage that has been flooding the market, why support a bunch of crap, thus furthering the decline of a once glorious game market?

My thought is that MMORPG.com is provided with it's contest awards by the marketing departments of games and hardware manufacturers.  It is those companies who decide what awards are given out in the end. MMORPG.com has a direct say only in what awards it gives out in those contests that the people who run it decide to hold on their own.
