As the title says, its nearly impossible to properly test the skill system atm due to having to level up to get skills. Expect lots of balance issues as a result. I'll glad take back my statement if someone who has gotten deep into the skill trees can tell me I'm wrong.

Us beta earlier beta testers were promised BP pools to test higher end skills, but that along with many other promised implementations never really happened. The gear inbalance is already bad enough.
There should be gear imbalances between t2 v t3 v t4 etc or else there wouldn't be a point to craft the higher end stuff. The difference between the highest armor and then next highest set shouldn't be extreme, maybe 10% difference, but if you go up 2 levels it should be a lot more noticable.

A tier 5 taking out 8 tier 2 guys without any issue is a problem.
Have you actually tried this recenlty? 8 tier 2 guys could easily take down one tier 5. If your going to make stuff up at least make it believeable.
If everyone is expected to end up in t10 eventually, then a balance difference would be expected. If however, there's a reason for players to stay in t2 gear or t5 gear or whatever, then the power difference between tiers should be much less.
What about the time investment between the tiers? Is there a huge time investment to have t5 gear versus t2 gear? Does getting the higher level gear require that you have a guild or could you do it solo?
There's other factors beyond just the number of t2 people the t5 guy can kill in one sitting.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Read the combat discussion beta forums.
Gear Tier Stat Increases Are Jacked
That thread was terrible, it just turned into a flame war.
I think we'll just have to wait and make our final judgement on it since the majority of people havent even played above T2 or T3.
The old beta testers have.
Hence why I said the "majority" havent. Thier were only around 600 people in the beta before me and I got my key on Jan 21st 2011, so not many people to test the high level content.
