I know the majority of the population here is against F2P, and rightfully so. Too often, the line between mandatory, and aesthetic gets blurred and the game is dominated by those foolhardy enough to spend real money on imaginary currecny.
HOWEVER!
This is why YOU (Yes you, the guy eating cereal after noon) should support the triumphant return of APB.
1. Showing the gaming industry that those long lost titles of yesteryear still have value. What this means is, if you liked some of those cancelled games, Auto Assault, Tabula Rasa, Hellgate, The Matrix, etc etc (c'mon the list is nigh infinite) APB: Reloaded's success could possibly have those titles ressurected for all to enjoy once more.
2. It may spur the developers of dying games, *cough* Vanguard *cough* and other like it to actually take a product that they didnt see reach its financial return/potential and breathe new life into those games.
3. Show the world that APB's failure was due to the gross mismanagement of a company, not the skill of developers, and more importantly NOT the failure of the market (thats you.) By supporting APB's return, you can ease investors into this realization and start holding development companies more accountable for the products they produce. This will lead to more innovation, better games, and more options for you, the gamer.
4. The if you've ever felt like a game lacked customization options, dear god, play this game. While some may not feel the gameplay is "deep" enough, you could literally spend hours upon hours just customizing the way you look, your clothes look, your car looks, your tag looks.... I could go on, but this is a different arguement.
5. It is literally a zombie. Back from the dead, and we all love zombies, some more than others, but I'm not here to judge.
6. It's FREE, what do you have to lose?
7. IT'S A FRIKKEN ZOMBIE MAN!
Well, thats the foundation of my arguement, (heavily relying on the zombies).
APB: Reloaded is going (back) into closed beta this month, so head to the site (http://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/) and sign up.
And no, I am not affiliated with Gamers 1st in any way, shape, or form. I am just an avid gamer such as yourself hoping to see one of his great gaming romances return. Thanks for reading!

Playing the game won't really accomplish any of the points you stated...
...but I do agree that many users should give it a shot. Especially because it is free. I tried it back before it caved in though and the game was utter garbage. The customization was great but there was so much wrong with the game.
Thanks for the post.

Did this game have loads of bugs or somthing? and i mean loads? or was it kinda bug free????
I might give it a try if they cna prove they've added a game to play..not just virtual Punk Barbie dressup designer with a pvp minigame attached.
i signed up in this game n i want to play it =.='
The producers of APB mismanaged the CRAP out of their company into financial bankcrupcy. This lead to nearly contentless patches, or lack there of, a month into launch. They quite literally couldn't afford their own developers anymore and put a halt to internal work until their financial bomb that they created could be difused.
Unfortunately, the bomb went off as the Producer clipped the green wire, when only Blue & Red existed in-front of him (i think it was on the motherboard of the jury-rigged alarm clock), that sent the company into bankrupcy.....shutting down the game. Another studio bought the ENTIRE game hand & foot + "most" of their retail developers.
I can't wait to see what happens with Reloaded, since they essentially have the core game.....now they have a crapLOAD of time to polish it into a gemstone of pure face pwnage. Now all we have to see is if they "Asianize" it (forgive the obvious racial implications, trust me it's not derogatory against a race....but a genre) the game into oblivion. Think Cars, Guns, Cops & Robbers, but in Allods format...../shiver

The Theory of Conservative Conservation of Ignorant Stupidity:
Having a different opinion must mean you're a troll.
It had its share of nuances, as most games do at release. I'm not condoning this, as I think all games should be polished if youre buying it, but yeah.
There were issues regarding hacks, which is a rather amusing story. The devs didnt have their anti-hack software (PunkBuster) enabled during beta to optimize performance, and when they switched it on for live, it was bugged all to hell. The company, RTW, was going to hell, and they decided to just shut it off in hopes that people would keep buying it. It was a hail mary to save their ass, and it did the opposite, it was the final nail. The situation was more complex than that, but this is MMORPG.com... those who want to know will.
However, G1 has released an update regarding PunkBuster being optimized throughout beta and they have stated they have a strict anti-hack policy. And its not like they'd be losing a sub, so I dont see any hesitations kicking cheaters. This game is a huge investment for G1, and theyre making it their flagship game, so citing some of the other issues with their other games may not be as relevant as you may assume, for those who want to go there.
I was going to tell you that you were stupid, and give arguments as to why you were stupid, but then you brought up zombies. It's hard to argue with zombies.
Anyway, if the game is fun, people will play it. It seemed like there were a lot of people who wanted to play the game, and it just disappeared on them. I would be surprised if a lot of those people didn't show back up in the game. If they can fix the laggy cars and reassure the players that cheaters never prosper, they'll probably do just fine.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I am indeed incredibly stupid.
APB had a terrible launch, I mean it was closed down just months after its release, the complaints on the BETA forum were enough to see that this game had some major issues.
Typically when people want an MMO they want content, more stuff to do than your regular SP/MP game, APB had a problem when it came to interesting content.
Although, the idea is pretty awesome and if executed correctly could provide an enormous amount of fun, but with all the competitors it's just extremely hard to get customers, not everybody is amused by the idea of subscription based games, and not everybody enjoys an MMO.
Although naturally I am more of a Singleplayer person some games catch my attention.
If they keep the same level of customization they had for f2p, don't make the cash shop Pay-2-Win, and fix the damn balance/lag issues, I might play again.
I was really happy to read that the will finally add "Turf wars" and a whole new district before the game relaunches.
Thats about all the info i need to start playing this game again.

Except you worked zombies in there as a master stroke of genius. It's hard to argue with zombies. They're like gaming bacon.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
with the short lifespan of APB, wouldn't it be more of a great "holiday greet and meat" or great "one month stand"...
just sayin...
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
That's the only valid reason in your whole diatribe.
Unfortunately, I don't play zombies, I shoot their friggin' heads off.
This game has became my favorite game in a short time. I gladly pay for it as no other game comes close. I know the game had major problems, but still, no game comes close to San Paro.
In my opinion ofcourse.
Wait theyre adding zombie invasions in ab reloaded?? so itll be like...resident evil online???

I'll definitely be there. I loved the original and I hope i love the reboot. I'm definitely going for a paid account too. Hopefully I get in the beta.
Pssh forget this peice of crap if you wanna bring back a good mmo that got shafted when it didnt deserve it bring back Earth and Beyond.
Amen, brother.
I'm in too as soon as this game is live. Loved the game despite what everybody had to say about it flaws.. Its attributes were overly surpassing em. Great game and I am too hoping they do something good with their "turf war" they want to add.
I'm sorry OP, but I find none of your reasons compelling enough to pay for the game.
1. I don't want the old titles of yesteryear resurrected. These titles failed for a reason. They are mostly shallow, poorly developed and bug ridden. Release new titles with better implementation of the more creative ideas of these games rather than try to resurrect these games that don't deserve to be resurrected.
2. Again, I'd rather they work on new titles than spend development resources on an older failed game. They can take the good ideas from Vanguard and implement them in a new release with better implementation and technology. Vanguard has fundamental issues from it's engine, world itself, and mechanics that couldn't be revamped at this point to a AAA quality title.
3. APB didn't fail due to it's company's gross mismanagement. It failed because it was a rather shallow (for a subscription based "MMO") game. False promises (massive open world gameplay was actually just instanced matchmaking), poor shooter mechanics (imbalanced weapons and felt way too much like a console shooter), lack of content (10 hours of play and you'll run the same missions over and over again). The character customization was deep and the driving mechanics (in my opinion) were good, but then the driving mechanics rarely came into play in most missions.
4. I agree the character customization is fantastic, but this game wasn't suppose to be a Sims mod and character customization isn't everything.
5. I love killing zombies, so can we blow APB up in glorious bits and chunks of decayed flesh?
6. You are asking us to pay for it though. I think it will make a great free game and hope it does well, but I can't see myself paying for the game in the long term unless there are really significant content updates.
7. Again I love killing zombies, should we make it redead?
I will pass on this game simply BECAUSE it is being marketed as a so-called "f2p" game. The new developers may make it a good game but if they are trying to sell me something using that "f2p" tag line....I shall pass.
Let's party like it is 1863!
I can't wait for this game to be re-released. GamersFirst has the ability to make APB what it should have been in the first place. The new dingier, darker setting they are thinking of looks incredible and also the car physics (gawd I hope they worked that out).
Never!I Whislt I loved Earth and beyond for what it could of been...I have the pandered to whining of spolit Jenpies ever again!!!! 8P
