Need a new MMO to try, any ideas

as title says im looking to try a new mmo, it does not have to be a "new" out mmo id prefer something without a cash shop, im not looking for a "free" mmo so i dont mind sub fees but the free is always welcome ;)

Game play is more important over GFX id like something with a large active comunity, style of mmo dont bother me i.e sifi, fantasy etc.

brief history of the games ive played or tried i may have missed a few off...

Entropia Universe - Great game but can be costly to play

World of Warcraft - this was good full of kids and a bit cartoony

Battle of the Immortals - high end game play can be expensive and the controlls are a bit limited on a 2d world

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided - great game pre cu, comunity is a bit dead now and limited on crafting

EverQuest II - great game but seems to be getting old

Eve Online - good game but seems to lack content just running missions all the time

Rappelz Epic6,

Tabula Rasa - i would play this now if it was still out so something along the lines of this would be great

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - great gameplay great graphics but the comunity is a little thin

Guild Wars - seems limited and not to fond on instanced zones

Global Agenda - great game but seems a little limited being sort of stuck in a dome they have a little playground for us to venture in

Second Life - this just seems to be a social enviroment

Rohan: Blood Feud,

The Matrix Online - no longer existing but the gameplay was ok

Lineage II - full of bots from what i seen

Rappelz Epic5,

Fallen Earth,

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning,

Perfect World,

CABAL Online,

Anarchy Online,

Rift Beta.

Maybe you could tell us, how you felt about the games you've tried. Which ones you liked or disliked? or what about them you want or don't want in a new game

    Vanguard

Excellent game with a very small community and a huge world.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

I'm not too sure what kind of games are you looking for, something different? similar but better? I'm basing my suggestions on games you have played before.

    P2P -

Rift - I see you have played the BETA, if you liked it, why not order it and play? Its coming out in a month??

DC Universe Online - if you are looking for something different to the games you have played before, I suggest trying this one, its not perfect, UI is pretty un-intuitive, but a fun action mmo

These two are the newer games, and since you said Everquest 2 is getting a little old, those two are really the acceptable newer games out there.

    F2P - I would suggest:

Dungeons and Dragons Online - a very well polish game that is mostly free to play, or earn points to use in Cash shop, But the use of Instance zones may drive you off, similar to Guild Wars. This has Subscription options

Lord of the Rings Online - personally not a fan of the game, or art style, but you played Everquest, Rift, Warhammer and Age of Conan, similar art style, similar gameplay. This has Subscription options

Runes of Magic - pretty much a WoW Clone, I never played WoW, but thats what everyones been telling me, same as people ingame, Amazing community, Horrendous Devs, many problems right now.

Allods Online - Fantasy MMO, similar to WoW, had cash shop problems before, a few said this issues been fixed. Slow combat and steam punk mixed with Fantasy theme

How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
