How is the Full game compared to Beta 4 days ago?

TweFojuTweFoju Member UncommonPosts: 1,236

Has anything changed? like improved stability? keep crashing?

or it's now working smooth without dcing every like 10 minute like it was in the Beta a couple of days ago?

i know Feature wise, it is the same, what i am willing to know is the performance difference

because it's a shame that now without buying the game, you cant post on their forum anymore

So What Now?

You understand you can read the forums still right? Might want to start there because amazingly enough you will find out that launch is set for a few hours away still. How would anyone know answers to your questions? Magic 8-ball?

its diffreant : ) guild mate took the client apart .. and compared it to the beta client

Rax you do not know that performance is better. Stop spreading false info.

What  you can do is be truthful about how performance is after launch, because like I have always stated. It is the only thing right now that is keeping me from playing the game.

when did i say that i have no idea how performance is going tobe at release.

but the release client is diffreant

I think for the first day/weekend performance will be crap no matter what as people in the U.S have no doubt taken Friday off for a long weekend to log in on Friday morning. Servers will be coming online (if it goes as scheduled) in E.U late afternoon early evening, so I don't think a true comparison can be made until next week.

We should easily be able to tell if several big issues have been fixed or not :

    1) Desync - the dreaded invisi mobs, loot and other players

    2) Stuttering / glitching - supposedly because the game was run in debug mode and on beta hardware

    3) Getting stuck with either your weapon drawn or holstered and not being able to do jack about it other than die. (Relogging didn't work, swimming sometimes did).

Those are the game breakers for me. If they are still in when the game launches, the game is in trouble as most folks will think wtf and click uninstall. Some folks will stick with it no matter how bad it is or how long, and I can respect that. My patience threshold these days is the 'free' month. Hoping for the best, expecting to be disappointed.

  • TweFojuTweFoju Member UncommonPosts: 1,236

I know that very well, but there is no discussion about the performance thus far, and i can't ask there so i figure i'll just ask here

anyway, i was not aware that the game was not out yet, sorry for that

    geez, chill man

    So What Now?

  • LobotomistLobotomist Member EpicPosts: 5,981

I would put my money on : no actual change in performance (other due to fact tha much much less people are playing)

But than again, i know fanboys (and even people that jumped the gun) will convince us otherwise.

Shame that there is no trial.

Seriously please let us know. These are the things holding me back from purchase,

The patch notes are up on the game forum.

They say they worked on performance and bugs, but no absolute figures so guess we will just have to wait and see.

They added storage, decreased battle points for skills slightly, and increased the time forcriminal karma to disappear greatly. Among many other things.

So looking pretty good, the devs has changed exactly the things players wanted to.

Thats why I have great hope for this game in the future, they have devs that actually do things that are needed and not just create more problems with worthless patches. (obviously no reference to MO)

Edit: also just read that servers should be up within the hour

    My life is a game!

Honestly I wouldn't expect all of that to be fixed with the release patch. They are going to have problems the first week or month to break everything in. You should give it a little time if you are serious. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a miracle fix today in other words.

    1) Not fixed

    2) Not fixed

    3) Not fixed

And add problems with half of my guildmates not being able to get in the game because their *pre-ordered* keys will not work.

Very very disappointed so far. Here is hoping the next couple weeks bring enough of a change that the game gets playable, because right now I need to relog every 30 minutes or less to clear up desyncing issues. Oh yeh, and bunny hopping jinking US players seem nigh on untouchable when you have 400ms+ lag (with packet loss and spikes). Not good, not good at all with a semi-FPS targetting system. Time will tell, but so far I cannot recommend the game hand on heart. I'll give another headsup in a week or so, sooner if they pull a miracle patch.

Thank god i decided to hold my purchase, it's sad, because for a guy who have been waiting for 3 years for this game, and i even brag to my friends that i will definitely play this and left them from WoW

and now i have to wait and analyze the game for another 2-3 months more to decided if this will be purchaseable or not

    So What Now?

  • RuinalRuinal Member Posts: 195

Devs are now claiming these issues will be resolved by mid Feb. Fair enough, but weren't these issues claimed to be fixed for *launch*? Beta debugging software running in background, beta hardware not representative of the ping players would get on the 'live' servers? Bullshit. Live is the same if not worse than beta in some instances. Fail launch, which if they don't get their stuff sorted pdq will become fail game.

  • alakramalakram Member UncommonPosts: 2,301

What you see in the last days in beta is what you get at release, in all mmorpgs, a lot of people said so while the game was in beta. Reading in the official forums seems like the lag problems are still there.

I won't be wasting anytime on this game at all if it allows for bunny hopping.

"I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!"

  • HaatchiHaatchi Member Posts: 67

I was on the beta, I pre-ordered the game believing that the devs were going to resolve most of the biggest problems for the release.

    I was DAMN WRONG.

The release version is worst than the beta! I've an anlienware computer. (geekisme +100)  Inside there is crossfire ATI 5870, 8 giga of ram, an i7 intel processor.. (geekism +1000) And it is just unplayable!!!

I really enjoyed the universe, I know  I'll will definitely become a long term member of its community... But today the truth is that I wasted my free month stupidly! Although I really want to start playing, join a guild or build one, I won't play tonight. It is just impossible. I 'm not even able to control my char properly. I was hoping that the keyboard issue would be resolved in time for the release, but no. The worst as I only ha've a french keyboard (azerty/ not qwerty) and a german keyboard (qwertz) in front of me, I can't even type a message properly.... That's annoying.

I don't think I'll be able to play before the patch fixing the graphics. I really wanted to spend my week-end on this game, but if I spend 1 minute more on Earthrise now, I will probably become sufficiently disgussed to abandon it forever.

I lost my free month, don't make the same mistake. I want to believe that this game will be truly release in one month from now. It won't survive more than 1 month in that state.

I'll say this in the devs favour, there are passive skills which give significant bonuses to crit & damage if you remain stationary. I see this as anti-bunny mechanics, but with lag & stuttering at the moment the bunny hopping crazies simply cannot be hit... so you are kinda forced to bunny hop also to avoid taking the damage which would kill you. Trouble is also people haven't had a chance to get those passives yet as they require significant amounts of battlepoints, which are hard to come by with the gameplay being as borked as it is right now.

It's the first days of the release, surely you can't think everything is going be smooth right from the start but i expect they will be doing their best to fix as many things as possible, as soon as possible

  • HaatchiHaatchi Member Posts: 67

You're wrong, this is not the first day of the release. Release will come later, in a month or so I hope.

I've seen many mmo releases. DnL included. And Earth Rise makes me remenber the aforementioned game in many ways.

The difference between DnL and EarthRise is the potential. Earthrise will be a fantastic game in 6-8 months. However the dev team should not be forgiven for making us pay for beta version! It may be written Release candidate on it, you can tell me as long as you want that all releases are fail, here there is more. The game should have stayed in development  at least 3 months more. If even with my double ATI 5870 HD i'm not able to make it run properly, to who can you sell this game?

The minimum requirements written on the website are a joke. If you don't have a monstruous configuration, you won't be able to have more than 5-10 FPS.

With a good configuration, you can expect to have 15-20 FPS max.

Some peoples seem to be lucky, seem to have a configuration well recognized by the game, but this is not the case of the majority of us.

  • Ravencrest08Ravencrest08 Member Posts: 20

Suppose you're right to some extend, however to me it's exactly the game's potential that makes it worth buying and worth playing, even if it's got issues at the beginning. As i see it right now it's got problems, but all it needs is some time in order to become something actually great and new and refreshing. Truth is, ppl will always find stuff to complain about no matter when and what state a game is released in, so you can never expect everyone to be completely satisfied. IMO, just try and keep an open mind, especially if you already bought it - means you meant to give it a chance.

  • HaatchiHaatchi Member Posts: 67

I did buy it, I won't stop playing it as long as it is possible to play.

However, though I agree that there will always be someone to complain, whatever is the state of the game, Matshead really commited a huge mistake by releasing Earthrise yesterday. Ryzom had the potential to be the best sandbox ever. It never recovered from its release and nearly disappeared 3x.

Earthrise was not ready to be released yesterday, & a bad release can disguss half of the players of our community.

In game it is unplayable, I just left the tutorial area. Outside I've  7-10 FPS... with a high end configuration. The best advice I can give to my guildmates is to try the game in 1-2 months. If they come now, they'll play 1 day and cancel their accounts forever. A game can crash and lag on launchday, it's normal. But it cannot be waiting for a patch to solve such drastic  performance issues.
