People keep saying how good the graphics are,
I actually think WAR has better. The char face's and heads are terra bad. All the human faces ( there isnt a lot) look the same and the hair looks even worse. Only good looking race is the Bhami people. The in world graphics look like clay plasterd on a 3D world. Reminded me of the old davy and goliath claymation show. Dwarvs got hit with the super ugly stick. they should start a revolt there so bad. I was playing on ultra so it isn't that.
Anyway this is just MO.

yeah graphic is not that great, kinda stresses out my eyes a bit. When you do a rift you cant really see whats happening lol especially with fire rift, u dont know which mob ure tab to cos the ground is red already. If the game had age of conan graphic it would be awesome. would kinda fit the game genre and style.
I actually enjoy these threads. This is where I post screenshot you can get from pretty much anywhere to prove you are lying. OH JOY!
This is a Rift:

Umm what the OP wrote and the other wrote is what your screenshots look like. Stop wearing the rose colored glasses. Sorry I agree with OP's post. Very much the same way I thought nothing to see here. It's boring, generic and the graphics suck ass. Guild wars 2 will change the genre and destroy this game, war and wow to be honest. I hate wow, eq2, WAR, and well everything else pretty much it's all the same cookie cutter boring bullshit. I love arenanet, and I love guild wars. It's not an MMO but it sure rocks and its sequel will be amazing. The animations, world, spells all rival all mmo's I have ever laid eyes on. Rift looks like WAR, WOW, EQ2 had a baby = Boring and generic. I cannot wait til the servers are merged 8 months down the road. Enjoy dude! LMAO.
You must be playing on a terrible rig. I play the game at ultra running at ~50 fps and it blows WAR out of the water hands down. Environments, players, monsters, animals, rifts ect. all look great considereing the engine the game is using.
It is no AoC, TERA, or GW2 graphically nor was it meant to be. It falls comfrotable in between AoC and Aion in terms of graphics of games that are released. Vangaurd fans don't even go there. I played that extensively as well, sure it has some nice graphics and such, but it does not compare.
Meh GW one was nothing to write home about and what will GW2 do? Add dodging and rolling in combat and a 'dynamic' quest system? Dynamic meaning add a bit of filler to quests that will ask you to do the same thing as any other game. Kill this, bring that there, save them ect.
Yeah, that does not sound like it will destroy anything.
You should also mention that a) you play on 1280x768 or b) you use a technology not yet discovered by mortals.
Otherwise, the tech-forums tell a whole different story about "playing on ultra and getting 50fps".
Actually i have an average rig and I can run it at ultra and pull 45 FPS. Its a system to system thing, no one has really figured out what causes it as far as I have seen. And keep in mind the tech forums are just the ones having problems. There are probably 10 people with things going fine for every one person that is having issues.
I would agree Warhammer looks better from an artistic level, but I don't know about from a technological level. Rift looks generic. From a technological level i disagree.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
+1
Agree, Rift with all of the settings maxed out (as well as forcing texture fixing and the other high quality settings in the gfx card control panel) is between AoC and Aion, closer to AoC than Aion (Aion has some very poor stretched world texturing).
Its one of the top most beautiful mmorpg worlds, with all of the polish and details games like Vanguard are still lacking after years. They also did the texturing right, avoiding the plastic look you see in EQ2 or Vanguard.
As far as I'm concerned Rift is currently number 2 right behind AoC.
I am playing at 1920x1080, with all of the settings maxed out + manually maxing out the high quality options in the gfx card control panel (this makes the textures look better). That's on an nvidia gtx470 and 4.2ghz core2duo.
Rift is certainly not a game with performance problems.
