I am a wrestling fan I know its fake but I dont look at it any differently than any other TV show. The story libes just like with most scripted drama relies on the hope that the viewer is willing to suspend their disbelief and just accept the story for what it is. Basically we force our own immersion.

Basically it is an exciting drama, but even though people know that it is only an acting drama, we still enjoy everything that this show gives its viewers. All wrestlers have their own way of making thier fans standing on thier feet when they execute their "finishing moves" on the center of the ring. This show really makes me remember my childhood days especially when I bought an elbow pad becuase I want to imitate the rock's style.

I love WWE! ever since i was a child I already started watching it. I enjoyed every singe thing about this show. But since my dad introduced me to the UFC , I haven't watched it as often as it was before. Maybe i just like the real fight  more than the wwe but still i like it.

WWE yeah..... this is the most dramatic seen that an wrestler can show to the audience. hahaha.. i find this show so crazy because they do have big body but they are only actors that want to manipulate the viewer

I watched WWE for about a year when I was a Freshman in High School...now I pretty much just watch UFC.

    ps. boxing sucks

In what context? Generally? Current state of boxing? I mean it used to be absolutely brilliant.

    Currently, formerly, and conceptualy.

so freaking sick.. hahaha.. they are using thier big body to earn money good thing for them. but for me it's freaking me out. they are so stupid actors that can't kill anyone buy doing some stupid stuns. bloody hell. they are so naive to think and to televise this kind of bloody stupid blooady show.....

The script and acting may not be real, but I salute them for risking their bodies week after week.

I just hope they could bring back the glory days during the Rock/Austin/DX era.

Well, WWE is all scripted but its fun. I do love watching this when I was still a kid with my cousin's and we love copying the stunts, special maneuver's and their tag lines. Now that im all grown up and knew it was all fake its ok. Because the main purpose of wrestling is entertaining people, especially kids thats why wrestling is always IN.

WWE is not real and I know this because:

    1. How come they bleed when hit with a bit of steel... It isn’t sharp or nothing.

    2.  Triple H puts hands over a sledgehammer when using it.

    3.  Vince McMahon in a limo exploding, anyone would die, even if you were superman. What I am trying to say is that yeah it’s fake, but they make it seem realistic to kids. By the way... the bleeding is done by capsules. They put ones on a chair when they hit them so it explodes over their head. But the chairs are real. They hit them in a certain spot where they can’t get seriously hurt.

actually capsules are usually only used when they bleed from the mouth.   most wrestlers  (not wwe wrestlers since its no blood now) hide razors in their wrist tape and cut their foreheads after they get hit when they are holding their heads on the mat.  a good example is kurt angle dropping a razor a few  months ago right as a camera zoomed in on him.  or take a look at brother devons's forehead... so much scar tissue from 2 decades of cuts up there he probably doesn't even feel the chair shots lol.

depending on the weapon and match type those guys can bleed for real.  like old school ecw with all the barbed wire and cheese graters.  or czw with their deathmatch shit...  like when nick gage almost died because he cut a major artery on a broken flourescent light tube.  or the crazy oldschool japan new frontier wreslting stuff with their exploding ring posts and fire matches.  that stuff is stomach churning its so brutal.

and yeah the chairs and tables and barbed wire is real.  i've taken chair shots and as long as both the hitter and hitee do it right it really only stings. however both wwe and roh banned unprotected chair shots to the head, i.e not having your arms up, because of concussion issues.  being thrown through a table actually does hurt real bad, but not as bad as one would think.  just get cheap tables lol.

ps- that limo exploding stuff was so stupid but they cancelled the story linewhen benoit did his murder suicide thing.  vince, supposedly dead in the explsoion, was on tv the next week saying how its just entertainment and did a solemn homage to benoit ( before it became known that he went roid crazy and killed his family and himself, then they pretty much erased his existence.  its a shame too since benoit was one of the best.)

Cause it very entertaining unlike UFC in here they have special submissions, musics, tag lines, customes and story. Thats what people are looking for, just like watching TV even though its scripted.

It's fake. it is obvious. because you can't see any blood after thier fight and the sounds of thier punch is so loud that you can feel that they are just acting and that kind of act is not really real. I hope this WWE thing will be stop because they are wasting tehir time to act and fool people.

no shit, sherlock. the majority of people who are into professional "wrestling" know it's not 100% real. sometimes the injuries are real. the abuse the wrestlers put on their bodies is definitely real.

i used to like the WWF. the attitude era was the best! unfortunately it went downhill shortly after the WCW buyout. i saw wrestlemania 27 a week ago with a group of fanatical friends. i was struggling to stay awake. a little before the undertaker/triple h match, i told my friends i was going back to my car to sleep. i woke up after they were outside and knocked on my windows. even they were pissed off by the outcomes of the event. the most common statement i heard the entire car ride back was, "man, that wrestlemania was bullshit!" i suppose they've forgotten about the lesnar/goldberg travesty some years back.

WWE is fake my dad when i was younger made chairs, sledgehammers and more for WWE out of Styrofoam and balsa wood. ( handles ) My sister went to a live one and she had front row she was angry when she saw them faking the punches (to make the noise they bang their foot on the ground) and every thing else is scripted except for what happens off the set 50 % of the time. People would like to argue well the flips are real right well no there "trained professionals" see so its 100% fake unreal. My dad also set up stages for WWE most stuff that brakes easily is hollow balsa wood. One more thing hit someone in the head with a chair a sledge hammer or barbed wire on a stick or anything from WWE you will get arrested for trying to murder someone cause steel can break bone people obviously

Yes it is. All of the major professional wrestling companies like WWE, TNA, WCW, ECW (the list goes on) are all fake, Its called "sports entertainment", the matches are pre planed and everyone backstage generally knows what is going to happen and who is going to win. Wrestlers are made champions when they are able to draw in big crowds of people to come and watch the shows so that makes the companies more money. Just because the matches are pre-planed does not mean that the wrestlers do not get hurt. There are times when accidents happen and the wrestlers really do get seriously injured. You can generally tell when someone has really hurt themselves because the commentators do not know what to say and the match is either ends there and then or has a quick finish.

World Wrestling Entertainment fake? World Wrestling Entertainment is a real company that is sold publicly on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE symbol: WWE).

Now....is what they provide as entertainment fake?

No. While the matches may be predetermined, what each and every one of those men and women do in that ring is not fake. They may pull their punches, and they may telegraph moves to protect not only themselves but more importantly, their opponents, but the injuries that many of them suffer from time to time is real.

You can't fake pain when you are dropped from an average of 6 feet onto your back, landing on a platform made of a layer of canvas covering at most an inch of padding, a layer of plywood and an industrial spring.

More importantly, Wrestling is as real as any other television series you watch on TV or play that you see in the theatre.

It's not a sport, but rather, sports entertainment.
