MO was made to be a pvp centered game.
not sure what the OP was thinking when he bought the game. the whole concept of MO from the start was to have a PVP FOCUSED game, so of course everything revolves arround pvp.
this isn't a Final Fantasy wanna be, nor an Oblivion mmo.
i will agree with the fact that the actuall combat itself is far from being acceptable and/or fun. it's been 6 months for crying out loud and the same exact problems we had at launch are still there (lag, desync) and now they have added rubber banding from the prediction system. the whole system feels clunky, unresponsive, broken and just plainly frustrating. it is my single biggest source of frustation with this game.
when you make a game where pvp is THE focus you have to make sure that part of the game works almost flawlessly. i'm actually hoping some other company comes out with a similar (yet actually working) game. i would switch in heart beat.
No, MO was not made to be a PvP-centered game. It was made to be a game that features PvP. The difference is huge.
From the homepage:
Mortal Online is a true sandbox. You are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want.
Choose from many different races and professions. You decide your own style of playing and whether to focus on PvP or PvE, both sharing the same game world. Devote your life to crafting, combat, magic or trading. Discover new skills, tools and resources. Or be the first to explore new areas to put your name on the map.
Nowhere is it marketed as a PvP-only game.
they should have made the melee combat 3rd person, rest is first person like darkfall
The game is 100% PvP centered and was even described by the CEO right here:
Q: How much of Mortal Online's game play will be focused on PvP?
A: The entire game is developed with PvP in focus. This doesn’t mean there is no PvE only that our game is built on PvP with added PvE - not the other way around which is very common in other MMO’s

personaly i disagree. when i tried to play DF that was the biggest turn off in the game for me. the fact that melee was not 1st person totaly ruined the feel and immersion of combat. it was like switching back and forth between 2 different kinds of mmos in every fight. i loved DF archery, i liked magic (except for the sound effects :S ) but absolutely hated the 3rd person for melee. i can undestand that some people prefer that and that's cool, they can play DF.
i absolutely love how combat looks in MO ( except maybe for the white ring in archery which should be optional imo) i just hate the incredibly obvious desync and now rubber banding. i could even do with lag in larger battles or sieges if small scale pvp was smooth, acurate and responsive but its not. even 1vs1 is not "desync free". sad panda is sad.
