AO Like never before!

Let me start by saying that I just started playing this game a few days before Christmas. I think's it's been almost 10 or so days. With the Christmas cheer that was going around on the server (people handing out credits) and doing some hard work on part of doing missions, I was finally able to scrounge up enough credits to buy myself a Yalmaha that matched my abilities.

Man oh Man! Flying is the schiznit and I must say, in the past day Iv'e seen AO in a way Iv'e never seen it before. I fly up as high as I can go and then look down and you can see exactly how everything is layed out. I found things in Rome Blue that I'd never have seen any other way. I Whompa'd out to ICC and then flew back to Galway Shire and what a view. I'm really looking forward to being able to do missions in places that I'd always overlooked because of the run distance.

If you've thought about getting a ride in AO, then I'd highly recommend buying an Air Vehicle. It is the way to go.

Is it still where there is no point in getting anything besides the small sleds though? When the game was conceived there was going to be alot more diversity for vehicles and purposes for them, but that never happenned, atleast before I quit playing the last time.

In the short time I have been playing, all I have seen is the Air Vehicles. In the shops I saw a ground and water vehicle and the ground (Kodiak-IX) was going way less than any of them. One of the players I spoke to over Christmas had told me flying was the way to go, so that's what I sat my sights on. He was right.

I always wished they'd never taken out the carrier (only saw it on www.auno.com never saw it in game and have no idea if it was any good or not)

Also wished the Omni gunship was easily available - strike that - make the low QL Yalm more readily available!

I was actually referring to the larger air or "space" style ships, did they ever give them a purpose or are ships strictly to get from point a to b still? I never even knew there was ground and water craft in the game actually. Interesting.

There is life before Yalmaha and there is life after Yalmaha. And both are completely different.

I don't recommend for new players to get Yalmaha as soon as possible. Enjoy from you treks and running under trees and danger. After you have bought Yalmaha you also lose something - world is totally different above trees than under trees.

I've been playing this game and I love it. Great game, bit of lag, but you dont mind after awhile.  Keep up the good work funcom!

i dont know how new players can waste money on a yalm....hell at lv50 twinking a toon cost me easily over 1m creds (and thats just implants)
