During last beta I started running through various builds for the callings. I always play a male character, however this time I may roll a female mage after seeing the male elementalist summoning animation. It is definitely geared for a female toon, pole dancing like animation?.?. Is it just me being shallow and I'm the only one that thinks the animation is a bit on the light-footed side for a male toon or does anyone else see what I'm talking about? I would love to see the meeting where the devs were reviewing this and said 'sure, go with that one.'
Just a thread on the less heavy side for grins.

If only mages could do proper damage on their own, they would not need to hide behind a pet for causal pve, and the pet souls could be used by people into the whole pet managment thing.
Not a fan of the male "bellydance" when summoning pets...
video?
I'm not really sure I understand what you're talking about. My main solo-PvE role is Dom/War/Storm and I do just fine without a pet. Have to do a little kiting now and then when I'm facing more than 2 enemies, but nothing as intense as EQ days.
Anyway, back on topic. I thought the summoning animation for the Elementalist was a little weird when I first saw it, but since I was playing a Kelari I thought of it as more tribal than feminine.
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."
I do not have a video, but here is one from youtube, low quality video:
....it is in the later half of the clip.
I'm less concerned about the animation than I am about male robe wearers apparently equipping a bustle and expecting random floods.
Playing: FFXIV, EVE
Lol it looks more like he is stirring a pot.
