The most entertaining pvp was by far *cough* AoC. THe combo mechanism (which doesnt become fun untill alter on and your combos are more complex) and the action aspect of it all...very fun. One of the most fun assasin classes ever created imo. All other issues aside at least...hey and it looked phenominal too..
Other than the RvR games, and darkfalls full loot, twitch pvp...all other games do it like wow does better...unfortunatly...this is from their far superior game engin in executiing flawless commands...pvp in wow was, from what i remember from my bried experience with the game, all fluid, flawless, and all classes played a vital role in it all...despite their rolling buff/nerf system, all classes had their moment.
Also, wow's pvp seems to have kept a sizeable community for nearly a decade...makes me wish i could get into it for more than a month. Theres a reason, i suppose, that everyone blows by all the content for the endgame...its gotta be a blast.
But if you can get over the poor launch stigma all those years ago, and are willing to stick to a class untill at least 50, AoC had some serious fun in pvp...the mini games (battle ground) the open world, and even the buggy seiges....all very fun, and very action packed.....Some youtube vids of AoC pvp give agood impression of how entertaining it all can be.
So between these MMOs, can you please give me your opinion on their PvP? If we could keep out all the new MMOs like Rift and Guild Wars 2, that would be great. Thank you so much for your help!!
The OP is not claiming that those are the best PvP games. He's asking us out of those games on the list, which one do we think has the best PvP.
Of course he then goes ahead and adds Rift on the list, although he asks us to refrain from saying anything about it or GW2.

I agree, if he isn't going to have gw2 up there then he should take Rfit off, especially after specifically saying not to mention either of those 2.

Dark Age of Camelot, pre Atlantis.
From the list? Darkfall.
Darkfall wins with WoW 2nd?! :O

Ragnarok Online
A thread about PvP games without mentioning EVE in the original post is just blasphemy.
I don't think that Rift should be on that list. The game has not even launched yet, so impossible to know how the PvP will pan out.
What's Aika? Will have to google that.
As well as DaoC not being one of the choices.
