Instead of telling you what I've already played. I'll just tell you what kind of game I'd like to play, and you can give me suggestions based on that.

- Large World to explore, with alot of interesting places to see. I don't mind travel taking a long time.

- Something that doesn't hold your hand from quest hub to quest hub. I'd like to be free to sort of choose where I want to go and what I want to do when I get there.

- Lots of Group oriented content, but with the ability to solo when groups aren't available or I just don't have the time.

- Challenging content that I can't "yawn" through.

- Good player community where people are helpful and friendly.

- I like PVP, so I'd love for it to have some form of PVP but its not required.

- I'm looking for something that feels like a living world, vs. a get to level cap game.

- extra fluff content is also a plus (housing, mounts, crafting, mini games)

- decent storyline

OK, Suggest some games!

Everything above that is in bold applies to Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. But beware, the game doesn't get updated anymore so it will not be a permanent home. There is no PvP content, overarching story (but definitely interesting places and bits of lore in different cities/factions), and I cannot honestly describe the world as "living" because you will basically be trying to advance in all three spheres (adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy)...

However the world is huge, the community is the best in the business, and the areas are interesting and varied... It is also possible to solo but after level 20 will be a challenge, but still very possible if you know your class well. It also has diplomacy complete with quests (like Oblivion's speechcraft, cept in Vanguard it is a card game where you have to advance to get better cards and take on more challening NPC opponents), and a robust crafting system.

Many fans of Vanguard regard it as the true sequel to EverQuest, as opposed to EQ2.

There is a free trial available.

I will say Vanguard too.  It's a good game, but like Carrie said, it's an SOE game that is clinging to life support.  Population is top heavy as well.  There's a free trial I believe, check it out.  You are asking a lot for a game to have all that though, there are many games that may have some of what you are asking, but not all.  Good luck :)

I've been in 2 beta events for RFIT already, and it felt extremely familiar like I had played this game before in a past life, or maybe it was a combination of games.. nonetheless it felt like I had already "been there, done that"

Did you even read his post? He asked for something with challenging content, and without a get-to-the-level-cap race through quest hub after pointless quest hub. Rift is like the antithesis of what he's looking for.
