    According to their podcasts-

At launch they will have "Hard Mode" of all available dungeons (think WoW heroics), in addition to 5+ level 50-ish dungeons with a normal and hard mode - I'm guessing for a max of about 9-10 dungeons.

They'll have one raid directly at launch with a couple of bosses, with a 2nd raid released "very soon" after launch i.e. a few weeks with another couple of bosses. Then a 3rd raid released a few weeks later (i.e. maybe 4-5 weeks after launch) with a  "double digit" number of bosses.

    These are 20-person instanced raids.

They will also have "multiple" 10-person "Rift Raids" available at launch with "many more" to follow in the weeks following launch.

There should be about 5-6 Warfront available at max level, in addition to the ever-evolving (and hopefully by launch worthwhile/fun/useful) Ancient Wardstone system for open-world PvP.

Achievements system heavy on the back-end (level 50) for the raids and hard-mode dungeons.

Also special open-world bosses available periodically as well as some to be summoned by players at end-game for raids.

And of course a bevy of Rift types and elements, with a large number of different invasions - both NPC created and player spawned Defiant/Guardian NPC invasions.

I think the NDA suggests that they aren't done developing it and may even be waiting on what people end up thinking is FUN from beta feedback and survey results.

I think it would be a brilliant way to develop endgame specifics/mechanics.

We all know that ENDGAME is the only thing that ends up mattering in a game.  If the endgame is bad, you end up making alts or stopping playing all together.  If the endgame is awesome, you will be logged in every night on your main and having fun.

So people do think its....odd...that endgame is unknown so clsoe to launch..

That beta will curiously capp out at 42, just shy of endgame....knowing how important endgame is to the rift audience...wouldnt this be something they would want some exposure testing and getting feedback on?

This fact...paired with their "buy 6 months of sub time upfront for a discount"  gives me a gut feeling that something isnt right.

I doubt its any bug issues, or really content issues...i think they are worried about it in execution...that it might be fun for a short while, but only a short while...mabey they are desperatly rushing to change this...who knows....but something is very fishy about this games secretive endgame..

As others have said they have discussed the end game and what it comprises...sure they haven't shown you a walkthrough of every end game raid an small group dungeons but seriously what other game has done that?

Oh and you forgot to mention balance issues.

You won't have to wait long after release to start hearing about endgame. That said, the "Founders" subscription plan only saves you $1 a month from their regular pricing for paying 6 months in advance. At this point, I'm looking forward to picking up a Collector's Edition for about 25 bucks in a few months.

Unless you're dead set on hitting the new ride on opening day, there's really little incentive to buy now if you're unsure.

we all know what the endgame will be....we just dont know if it will be fun, the community hasnt tested it yet...you dont find that strange?

And people will only care about balance after beta when it effects gameplay.  Since i have decided to wait at least a month before possibly subbing, im just dropping it...the beta testers with proof were testing for a community that didnt care and a company that feels the same.

So youll either see my topic reappear shortly after launch fromt he community, or your hear from me telling everyone how balanced the game really is as ive subbed and am now playing, if it is infact balanced at 50 at least.  Not perfectly balanced just decently.

Oh and the last comment earns you "smarmy" points, which isnt good.

If you think that 42 out of max 50 levels are not enough to know whether you like the game or not, you must be special.

Edit: (You as in the reader, not just the OP)

Where do you guys keep getting level 50 as the level cap for release? If you look at factional gear, top end crafted gear list, top end mounts, top skill levels  for raiding souls they all say level required level 70..

Not to mention there are alpha testers way past level 50..

Or not...  The level cap is 50.

You are confusing the level of the gear with the level of the players.

Great post, company lets people play 25 days for free  ( if you add all beta up) and they try to save something for launch and people still bitch about it. Good job sticking it to the man with your ability to see the negative in something you have no clue about!

Heaven forbid people give their opinions on issues they see with the game during beta.

Beta is a free ride, nothing more i guess.

Sorry, I've run out of colors for painting ponies, lollipops, and rainbows. But let imagination take you where it will.

Yay smarmy points!!!Will it eanr me smarmy loot?Yes it was a bit smarmy but you hav eto admit you beat people over te head with your opinion of the balance issues(I'm not disputing that they don't exist they do,how bad is subjective) way too much.

But back on topic...the end game is being tested by people in the "alpha",how many testers there are are unknown as they are still under NDA but the alpha has been running 24/7 for a long time now apparently...so the content will be thoroughly tested but I'd agree not stress tested with multitude sof groups running the saem raids/endgame instances at once on server clusters. But the yprobably think they cna adjsut these after launch if they have to.

As to why capping at 42 and not 50...we'll I think they are onyl letting you get o 42 to maybe stress test the higher level zones but don't wnt  to give the wole game away free. It'd be like giving away the maine vent of a boxing/mma PPV on free tv and wondering why your PPV orders aren't doing so well.

Theres a difference with someone giving an opinion and someone just trying to be overly negative. This OP is just being overly negative jumping to the conclusion that this game has no end game. That is just a ridiculous thing to say about this game when the one thing just about everyone agrees that this game is an extremly poilshed game. Maybe Rifts end game will suck but so far we have no evidence to make that assumption.

In any case, how many beta events are there left and will the end game finally be revealed, and tested, then?

Your concerns only make sense if you are the suspicious type...  Need more tinfoil for that hat?

Please list ANY game that has outlined, prior to launch, exactly what their plans are for endgame?

Last beta begins tomorrow, Alpha testers are already playing endgame.  It will be revealed to the rest of us when we get to a sufficient level to see it.
