Overall DPS ranking

arcsurarcsur Member UncommonPosts: 37

Hi, ive seen many DPS comparisons, but i have never seen an overall ranking. Anyone experienced enough would help me please? I think a good list would help anyone who plans to start a char in the future.

II would like to hear about three situations:

1. Ideal circumstances for each class,  2 min long raidboss  fight at level 55. List all classes please (healers and tanks too).

2. Ideal circumstances for each class, 10 min long raidboss fight at level 55. List all classes please (healers and tanks too).

3. General  DPS, counting ideal and non ideal circumstances, burst and long sustained raid fights at level 55. List all classes please (healers and tanks too).

Thanks for the help.

Not sure what you're looking for exactly. Do you want raw numbers? Educated opinions? Ideal I assume is a tank and spank fight and non-ideal would be a very reactive one correct?

General DPS meaning soloing and in small groups?

Parsing isn't terribly easy to come by in VG and even then, many of the insanely well geared and skilled players aren't around currently to show us how DPS should be.

I'll start parsing more to try and get some raw data for ya. Although I'm pretty sure that at certain points DPS is purely based on player skill as the classes are rather well balance in my opinion when it comes to raiding.

    Soloing is a different story.

Thanks for the anwser, i thought this topic is dead :).

Well raw numbers would be nice yes.

By ideal i mean what is what is ideal for each class. In most cases its a tank and spank yeah. Some classes take a hit if they need to move a lot, others dont. So those fights i dont count an ideal fight. DOT classes favor longer fights, some bursters like shorter fights. So ideal is more like a subjective factor for each class.

General would be an overall, counting ideal fights and non ideal fights too. The general would be more like a ranking, then raw numbers as the general DPS of each class is more theoretical then an objective number.

    Thanks for the efforts.

From what I understand it is Sorc.  I have one at 20 and it seems like it might be true.

I would suggest play the type of DPS you want.  Some mobs in VG have a high mitigation to either magic or physical damage.

There are plenty of classes and from what I understand all of them are viable end game.  i had a talk with one of the guild leaders of a top raiding guild about it one night, yes a top raiding guild leader had a conversation with a newb, and they said that Monk, Sorc, Ranger, and Druid all pretty much do the same.

I have heard that Ranger is the easiest to level of the group though.  Not sure about that though.  Sorc can be a pain because of low health and mitigation in VG is very important.  In many games the different armor tiers make a difference but the difference is not as large as it is in VG.

I am not a VG expert but I as alot of questions and do talk to vets in game. Not much of this info is first had most of it is what I have been told by others.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

    1) Highest burst dps < ~2min:

    Druid, Monk, Pally

    2) Highest constant dps:

    Sorc

    3) Highest overall dps:

    Sorc, Monk

For the record, highest dps is supposed to be Sorc, then Rogue.

And Monk is actually 3 subclasses ... would be nice if you specified of which subclass you talk about here when it comes to spike / sustained dps.

    Drunken style for burst/spike dps

    Dragon for sustained dps

Drunken style is the better overall choice imo

Both monk and ranger parse higher than rogue

Rangers do considerably high amounts of damage if you do the right sequence of skills. just gotta chain your combos right. I've topped out rogues and monks before on highest dps ratings.

I agree rangers being above rogue, but rangers and (drunken) monks are on par overall if equally geared imo. Rangers won't  top monks all time and monks won't top rangers all time.
