new mmo, wow is boring

infamous16infamous16 Member Posts: 10

Played wow for awhile and still havent played that much since the expansion came out, so im looking for something else. I like pvp, i liked in warhammer how you could pvp while leveling, that game was rly fun. Id prefer something free. Im trying out AIKA right now, still not sure about it. LOTRO doesnt have pvp i hear, or ddo...and i dont rly like those games either. I liked gw too, but the game just seems kinda dead now.

I just want a good f2p game that the cash shop doesnt have much effect on the game. I wanted to try ROM but i heard the cash shop has alot of influence, am i correct? any suggestions would be nice, 3d graphics but they dont have to be amazing.

A footnote: you can level just by doing PvP in WOW (or by picking flowers if you ever would want that). 4 or 5 wins in WSG/ or any other BG should add one level.

And once you hit lvl cap: they fixed the rvr part of Tol Barad last week (patch 4.06) as a really good daily PvP hub with quests

    .

Perhaps people should learn first what they actually play before seeking further.

But perhaps you just want a free game without subs, well you can't have both really (good/free).

ROM isn't as bad as other games. while the cash shop can help bolster your gameplay it isn't necessary.(plus some of the events will give you cash shop items anyway) The cash shop isn't over expensive as they have Sales on items everyday and super specials every weekend. Gameplay is straight forward like you'd see from any MMORPG, but you CURRENTLY can dual class at level 10 with extra skills depending on your primary and secondary classes.(I say Currently as when the latest Chapter occurs you'll be able to use a third class.

The community is hit or more miss.(more hit as it is easy to pick up a group to run an instance and Guilds are always recruiting.) But you do get the Diamond(ROM CASH SHOP CURRENCY) and gold spammers near towns. but in town it disappears.

Player housing that can Buff you if done right. Pets that can help gather resources for said buff and The most useful CS item permanent mounts (since the game has auto tracking.

I tried wow pvp, didn't like it. Played the game for years, its boring. I have tried every aspect of it lol. I'm gonna try ROM again tonight. Any other suggestions?

Never been a PVP guy. But there is PVP in ROM. check out their forums.

Thing about ROM is that Leveling to 10 can be easy. it's your second Class that's the hard part. there is a ROM wikia that has a good reference list.
Quest are your usual kill this and that but it helps you travel from place to place(auto track is your friend when finding mobs) some REDS are very aggro so be careful.

The new Rift game is suppose to be good and is in Open beta now.

Allods Online was suppose to be Good but I got WOW Bored with It has a Bad CS reputation.

UWO(Uncharted Waters Online) is like EVE on Water(not exactly) but has open seas where you can be attacked. if you can get past the (needed) lengthy Tutorial it can be fun.

But This site has enough PVP Vets and fans that they probably have better recommendations.

"Wow is boring" means you need something new. All youre gonna find is a bunch of mmo's trying to be like WoW, i dont mean that as an insult, theyre all cool games but they really only offer a new look and world. If youre bored of WoW i assume youre bored of the gameplay itself.

    Try Vindictus and Divine Souls.

I like Kabods gameplay, its similar to WoW but without the button mashing.

Have you ever played Dungeon Fighter Online? very fun.

Aika is the best for PvP because of its war, though to enjoy it you may need to be at the higher levels. It'd also depend on which version you're playing though. Right now I'm in the Global version since they call for raids much more often (for NA's version, raids are announced by legions/guilds. You won't know there's a raid unless you're part of the hardcore guilds).

Anyway, good luck in Aika. ^_^ What nation are you by the way?

You're looking for a new Mmorpg, and said you like WAR......

You said you want go f2p but hey, Rift is on the corner.....

It's got many things of WAR, and takes all the other good stuff of the other Mmorps.

Headstart is today, and I can't wait :)

PvP and F2P is not good combinations.

My main recomendation is Guildwars, it actually cost you to buy the box but have no monthly fees, and it is made by former Blizzard devs so you recognize some stuff. The PvP is arenastyle and Guild Vs Guild, not open but it is by far the best arenas in any MMO/CORPG.

As for F2P games with PvP you can play WAR (but only T1), DaoC (only with no expansions) and RoM. The last have an itemshop that tends to get more important the more you play but you can farm the stuff as well if you have patience.
