But seriously OP... There is no answer to this question. 4 character archetypes, each with 8 souls (plus 1 unlocked by PvP achievement). This gives you LOTS of different builds, and most are quite viable for both PvE and PvP. Just experiment and play the build that suits your play style.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.
It really depends on what YOU like to play. Some people prefer to be a caster, some prefer melee combat, some prefer to heal. There isn't one best because it depends on what YOU like. I like to range then melee once the enemy gets in close therefore Sabo/Riftstalker fits my fancy but that's just ME. The great thing about this game is there will be many different builds and none will be overly superior to others. Also the more I play the more I learn that player skill has a lot to do with how well these souls pair with each other. The game suggests pairings, but we are finding other pairings that seem to work better than the suggested.
It's disappointing to see this kind of topic, let alone how common it is. It's a shame that there seem to be a whole subset of gamer that is incapable of making their own decisions and are always asking others to make it for them.

Min maxers make the MMO world go round. Consequently, it's also why I'm not buying into this soul system bs.
People didn't avoid raiding as a frost mage in WoW because they didn't like it, it simply wasn't viable when you compared it to the other options. Same thing will happen in Rift. Combos will become cookie cutter staples, and then suddenly the robust and dynamic soul system is reduced to min/max hell.

Fortune Teller/Clarevoyant/Mystic
Any other combinations will be out of date.
