I've stocked up my favorite energy drink (Monster), Coffee, a bunch of snack food, and gotta have my smokes.
The servers will be up at 12 noon for me so, I'll be trying to log in at 11:55 lol.
And from there its a 3 day non stop Rift Marathon for me, too exciting for me, I wonder if i can sleep tonite.
Well thats what I have planned.
See you guys in game! (I'll be playing on Wolfsbane)
Nothing special for me mmo's are not some kind of race for me am more of an explorer , so friday morning it will be for me,because stupid internet compagnies in canada have a limit in downloads and i almost busted because i listen to alot of animes .
AM glad alot of player are ganna join Rift , good luck to everyone
Working 12 hour shifts in the hospital, I have off until Sunday night! And NOT eating/drinking the shit you all are(no offense) meth in a can NO THX! Water+Paleo for me.
RIFT TIME BABY.
Meh, I workout 5 days a week so filling by body with toxins should turn out to make me about average, health-wise.
Wrong. Sorry I see people who belive the same fallacy as you everyday in the OR. Health has little to do with working out, everything to do with what you eat.

I think it has more than "little" to do with it. I'm sure an average diet with exercise is better than an ideal diet with no exercise.
Let me put it this way... Maybe 10% to do with long term health. What you eat= EVERYTHING, read Robbwolf.com and please save yourself, and your kids from misery. EDIT: No you cannot live a perfectly healthy life while intaking gluten grains and sugar(sorry).
BACK to topic, how long do you think it will take the first person to 50?!
Not long at all i heard , a few weeks max funny because when i played everquest the new fippy server , i had forgotten how grindy EQ was .
no joke it take like 100 kills to get to level2 , wish mmo's were in between that these days but oh well i guess everyone liike getting to max level quickly .
i know personnly it's ganna take me a while to get to level 50 .
am pretty sure we will see level's 50 's within a month easy.

I got to level 35 in almost a full day during Beta 7, but I did alot of usless stuff like hanging out and chatting in general chat
But I noticed I slowed down in my mid 30s, I'm guessing from 40-50 its gonna be the longest.
On another note, I'm too excited to fall asleep...<sigh>

Ah I was thinking of trying Fippy. That's my earliest MMO and I remember I was super addicted to the old Evercrack. My long suffering GF actually pulled the plug on it and I had to give it up. lol
Rift is one game I am really not wanting to rush through to end game. I had a bit of an obsession trying to collect artifacts in beta, I got 11 sets done I think. I'd also like to spend some time Rift hunting, pvp, questing etc,. but I found that I was levelling faster then I wanted to in Beta. I kind of hope they tweak the xp back a bit for release.

Hoping I can sleep first of all. No matter how excited I dont want to be, so I can sleep, I can't help being excited the night before anything big(Just like being a little kid again on christmas eve). No special snacks or anything planned yet. I have a lecture class the exact time servers(shards) come up /boo. At the very least, I will be able to stay awake instead of being on the edge of snoozing during the day-long fifty minutes of that dreaded class. But I do plan to take my time leveling and I will make sure that I do my crafting professions while leveling so it takes longer and I feel I have gotten the whole experience.
Work till 2:30pm EST, get my kid off the school bus at 3:20pm EST, take my dog to get his staples removed from his neutering at 4:00pm EST, eating dinner with my wife and kids, putting kids in bed, then logging on after that.
Just drink water and eat healthy. If you want to game for 48 hours straight it's really best to eat light and not intake too much snack food or you'll just fall asleep from a full stomach and nothing that is good for you that would be super charging your brain.
That + iron willpower and friends that also have the time to stay up with you really helps.

I understand having a goal, but would you really enjoy staying awake for 48 hours straight? Geez. If you must...
Drink plenty of water, roughly a gallon every 24 hours. An apple with peanut butter every three or four hours will be good for some energy. One of those rotisserie chickens would be good if you spread it out some (time wise, not across your table). Fresh brewed mint tea with honey and lemon might be good too. The tea doesn't really count towards your gallon of water a day since it has some caffeine in it and caffeine (even in small amounts) can be a diuretic.
Stay away from fatty stuff or things high in processed sugar. No candy, potato chips, etc. Stay away from McDonald's, Burger King, etc. No pr0n.
If your have been diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder...basically if the a doctor diagnosed you with something and said you need to take steps to stabilize it staying awake for 48 hours is a bad idea.
That said, more power to you and good luck. I look forward to seeing "cvfg 8ohlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhl..." somewhere in global chat over the weekend. :-)
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I will be logging in for a few hours... and going to college.. then I'm coming home and spending some time with my family... Some of you people are ridiculous..
Well I have classes to attend and teach so I'm going over my work. On the other hand, I keep stealing glances at the clock in hopes that it is bedtime and I can get up just before work to an hour of head starte. It's like Christmas eve, isn't it?

I quit smoking, but because I just read this I'm considering smoking crack. You don't want to know what I'm gonna do to score it either. It's like some sort of cult...

Some of it is downright scary, eh?
Will be a normal day of doing things and then playing if and when there is a chance.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

My family was killed in a horrid BETA test accident. But seriously, nerd on nerd judging, it's the bee's knees. Who cares if some kids are happy a game is coming out and they're gonna geek some? It's a hobby, people enjoy it, this is part of it sometimes, we've all slept too little from a gaming binge now and then. If it wasn't fun no one would do it.

I was actually talking to the people in this thread that sounded like they were planning something of that sort. But yeah, it's not an easy thing to do.
I have stayed up for 48 hours straight once. Two times in a row (after some rest) back when Lineage 2 open beta came out (even though I don't even like Lineage 2, I did it because I was with a friend that did like it and he was doing the same thing lol). It doesn't feel good, in fact it's even painful to keep your eyes open, but I did it. Not a lot of people can claim they did something like that, which might be part of the reason some people do it. It's also probably partly that launches and open betas don't happen that often. Sure the game will be here forever after, but if you say you played for 48 hours straight in Rift 1 year from now, it won't be as cool as if you did it during open beta or launch.
However, when I did that, I was no beginner. I have stayed up for 24 hours many times for other games (Dark Age of Camelot, Shadowbane) and I first learned to do so slowly with games like Infantry back when Harmless Games was around when I was younger. Basically don't try it unless you are experienced and can do it safely. Always be safe and do anything you do in a healthy and moderate fashion. It can mess up your sleep schedules or mess your brain up. Not a good thing to do but it's extremely fun knowing you did it after for some reason. I wish I could give a better reason why it's fun to do it other than that.
I will probably be playing 24 hours for Rift. 48 hours is too rough and I will probably never do that again. However if I had never done that before I would think Rift is the perfect game to do it in with WoW being the only other game worth doing that.

Well I can't let anything ruin my play time, I mean anything. Now I just need to find somewhere to send the wife and kids for a week or two.

Energy drinks by my side. Staring at my monitor, and counting...
