As the topic. Just want to see how much RPG experience MMO players have.

Which RPGs have you played?

Which are your all time favourites?

If you have played way too many RPGs, you can also list the ones you completed or invested more than 1-5 hours in them. Although some of them actually last that long! But anyways...

I have played The Elder Scrolls Series, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, Diablo 1 and 2, The Witcher, Fallout series, Fable 1 and 2, Wizardry series, Might and Magic series, Planetscape, Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2, Arx Fatalis, Gothic series, Titan Quest, Sacred, Ultima series.

These are the ones I have played and really enjoyed. There are quite a few more but I don't think I can remember any of their names mostly because they were mediocre or were entertaining but not really memorable.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

Chrono Trigger is all that matters.

Elder scrolls series is always amazing though...

    Wizardry 1 and 8

    Ultima 2 and Ultima Underworld

    Bard's Tale 1

While I've played every game in each series, those were the ones that really captivated me and kept me engrossed in the game and the game world for much longer than any other game. That first Wizardry is currently my favorite little diversion, with copies of it on each computer I own.

Chrono Trigger fans are even more awesome than the game because they are a different breed of diehard fan. Tell someone their particular game sucks and they will usually enter into a massive monologue on why that is false. Tell a Chrono Trigger fan that his game isn't the best and he just shrugs - he knows it's the best [insert category here] and he rarely ever feels compelled to convice people otherwise. Likewise, when they tout the game, they do so with confident one-liners and nothing more.

I've never been a fan of Chrono Trigger, but I've been a big fan of its fans for years.

I always liked FF 6 best, and whatever FF 2 for snes was (4 or 5 or something).  I had a lot of fun playing Dragon Warrior 2 and 3 also.  Valkyrie Chronicles for ps3 is really good too.  Final Fantasy Adventure for original game boy was awesome too since it was a zelda like action rpg.  Then throw in some actual Zelda games, and some Diablo 2.

There are quite a few subgenres here, everything from hack n'slash games to action RPGs to adventure games and more.

    1. Thief: The Dark Project (and Metal Age, I consider them two parts of the same game.)

    2. Final Fantasy VI (it was FF3 in the USA)

    3. Dreamfall

    4. LoZ: Ocarina of Time

    5. Tie: Chrono Trigger, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

I know what you're probably thinking. "But Dream, Thief was a FPS game, not an RPG!" That would be true by conventional standards. However, Thief did far more to put you firmly in the role of the main character than any other game I've played. It also had many classic RPG elements - equipment upgrades, magical swords, sorcery,  a fantastic story and background, and extremely well-developed characters with excellent voice acting (Russell is just downright smexy as Garrett).

Plus, I've always hated how modern RPGs seem to be defined entirely by whether or not they have levels.

Played many but the favourites be these:

Mechwarrior The Crescent Hawk's Inception (Mechwarrior offers such a rich gameplay if someone would dig into it instead of make shooter games out of it)

    - Starflight

    - Star Command (SSI)

    - Wasteland

    - Darklands (played it for years and years and years...)

    - Alien Legacy

    - Ultima 7 (the best living world rpg)

    - Fallout

    - Gothic

    - Vampire Bloodlines (an truly outstanding game - much underrated!!!)

    - The Witcher (the best male avatar of all games)

    - Dragon Age Origins (cinematics, voice overs)

"Torquemada... do not implore him for compassion. Torquemada... do not beg him for forgiveness. Torquemada... do not ask him for mercy. Let's face it, you can't Torquemada anything!"

I can just agree with your list and add a few games.

Eye of the beholder II was as solid as the first game.

Champions of Krynn and death knights of Krynn were even better than Pool of radiance.

There were a few more good on Amiga which names eludes my now, in the best of them did you play 3 brothers in 3rd person....

But great list, I played most of the games on it as well and liked them. :)
