“Attention all pilots. This is Admiral Gira speaking from Spire Station. High Command has just called for the mobilization of all available pilots for a historic challenge to defend what remains of mankind against an unknown alien race from the depths of space. Gira over!”
Who is this Gira guy and what the heck is he talking about? Today is your chance to find it out! To join the European Open Beta you just need toregister for a Black Prophecy account and download the game client. Then you’re ready to jump into battle from the cockpit of your spaceship.
Two new open beta servers have been opened: Kemmura (EU English) and Shinava (EU German). Residents of the US and Canada who were previously selected for closed beta testing will be able to continue playing but new accounts from these areas will not be able to connect to the European servers. However, a North American closed beta test with local servers is coming very soon.
If you already have a previous version of the game installed, please check this page for further instructions.
We have prepared a brand new forum for open beta testing in Englishand German. The previous closed beta forums will be closed. We are looking forward to hearing your feedback, ideas and suggestions.
Also be sure to check the welcome thread for more information about beta testing.
Thanks, I must have missed that somehow. Well, I hope the NA beta comes soon, been pretty bored lately, and I am anxious to test this game. We need more SciFi space games and if I can help that happen then by all means I will.
Well, I'm in after two evenings of downloading, and here are my first impressions:
After login, there is a quite impressive character creation system, comparable to EVE online where I have seen a similar system first. The EVE character creator is maybe a bit superior, but not by much.
Playing BP starts with a great intro, one of the best I've seen so far in any game. In some ways it reminds me of the EVE Online intro, as both games have that "conquer space" motif with dramatic scenes and lots of pathos.
The game itself is promising, but still quite buggy. First the good impression:
The intro transitioned right into a mission to defend Spire Station, which provides some very nice dogfighting action in the vein of Freelancer or similar games. The opponents were, of course, easy in that noob mission, but it still showed that there is potential for a great space action MMO game.
But the bad was not far behind:
After that first combat mission, I took the next mission from Noah that led me to the Nimbus sector. Due to some technical problem, that sector is currently unplayable with completely erratic ship controls. So my char is stuck on that mission until the bug is fixed.
In summary, the devs have done a great job on graphics design and dramaturgy, but the programming needs a lot more polish. The good thing is that it is a free2play game, so you can follow it first hand without a subscription emptying your pockets. Once everything works fine, you can still hit the item shop and give Gamigo some money for their efforts

Just sucks that its F2P (Last I knew).
Sucks for you NA guys, though I'm happy to tease as it's often the other way around
Downloading it now, it fell off my radar for a bit but I actually do like a space sim now and then.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

I had the same issue yesterday.
It worked fine in the Closed Beta.
I hope they fix that soon.
Until then, they still have the non story missions if you are eager to fly.
Although I have not tried if those work, they did in closed beta...
Also the wierd flying behavior got less as I lowered the sensetivity of my mouse.
