Next time be more careful when you enter your information. Neither I nor the million other Trion customers had this problem. Not fair to start a negative Trion thread when OP is to blame.
G not J it's REGISTER....sorry that really bugged me
Playing: PO, EVE Waiting for: WoD Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.
Developers missed a catch on a account registration validation that allowed you to make a mistake and bypass it
The frontline CS were unable to correct the issue
Once escalated to the appropriate level, the issue was fixed within about a day of the original CS ticket
Honestly, I'd say that's pretty good turn around time.
Most large companies do not give their front line CS access to alter anything, since most issues can usually be corrected without data manipulation -- hence being frontline CS.
In all honesty to the OP I understand you being anxious to play the game but alot of your whining about it taking so long when it took them 29 hours to resolve your issue is pretty silly. It was at release Heck try funcom support via email you may be lucky to get a response in a week.If it had been 2-3 days I might understand it but considering they got you fixed in under 2 days I think that is a pretty dang good job,
For someone who said they didn't have time to play and there friend had basically bought you the game and paid your sub you sure seemed pretty darn impatient for someone so busy they couldnt buy the game on there own due to it,I know personally if I was as busy rl as you claimed I wouldn't have had the time to make the tons of emails and calls you said you made,Nor would have 29 hours bothered me to have waited.
I atleast got the impression that the poor registration system is what the critique is targeted for, and, hence, it seems somewhat outrageous that all the sudden everyone is blaming the one reporting from it. The situation as depicted on this thread by the OP is one that should not even be possible, therefore, the pace with which they do correct it is irrelevant. If a typo can lead you to such limbo, I can but wonder how many have just given up already by now.
As OP also repeatedly mentions, he is in no fashion making allegations on the quality of game play nor the game itself but solely for their customer service and in particular the way the registration works. It seems a tad silly that any form of criticism, even valid, is met with colour-me-sarcastic replies and witty remarks on how a person using a wrong English word or spelling it wrongly cannot be trusted. An overzealous defense of something not worth defending (here the faulty registration procedure) serves no purpose and most likely just damages that what you are trying to defend.
It was sorted within 29 hours. Do you get that kind of service down your bank, or in most MMO's? New systems always have issues, Customer Service deserve a pat on the back here.
I don't blame the OP for making a mistake (if indeed he did), anyone can do that.
Also - you got the game and years subscription for FREE.
You were denied 24hours FREE gaming, because YOU made a typo.

29 hours is customer service denied?
I have put a few emotive titles on my own threads, so have to be careful not to cast a stone in a glasshouse. But come on.
