Oh they will be...
I thought they already had like 68 servers up in the air.
So they'll have 99 servers up and running at launch, quite a number.
Hopefully it won't lead to ghost servers after the free period has ended.

I hope they allow server transfers to the new servers, the one I'm on is overrun with Goon Squad and has 2 hour queues
that's alot of servers... is it really that busy? honest question, not meant to flame or incite over-zealousness on either side of the coin.

nah, I don't think you're flaming. It's a ligit question. iirc, beta had 1500 per server, now I believe it's approximately double that. So I don't know if in 3-6 months Trion can sustain those numbers. It's a mystery to me that they have or will need that many servers...
So they must have some idea of how many are going to come in tomorrow otherwise they would not do this based on the sales they had on their site. Or are they just being overly optimistic. God I would not like to see these servers merging after the free month. I play on Faeblight and I am hoping this game continues to do well.
They already said they are working on the logistics of making that happen.
As it stands nearly all the servers are at full or heavy status, and nearly all the servers have queues. There are only a few that are at Medium currently. Some of the servers are still experiencing 3+ hours of queue times and the heavy pop servers are still seeing 1+ hour queue times. Its busy, very busy.

Still, even though it would be a 4th roll - "Carrion" just sounds tasty.
It will be interesting to see what plays out during the week as well. Have to wonder how many folks they figure will be picking it up from launch through those first two weeks to a month, eh?

Hard to predict. I've been telling every gamer friend I have, "You need to buy RIFT!" so multiply that by the number of players enjoying it now...that's alot of boxes.

It suck... i had to go kick my cat. I freaking waited for hour and half for que. 300 people!!! then after i log in for 5 minute server went down for patch... so far everyday it went down for patch. whats up with the patches. its running fine there is no glich leave it alone damn it.

its pretty busy right now. more than half the servers there is a several hour or more wait to log in. on the lower population servers it easier access but there are alot of people. i'm on a low pop server and there are alot of people. it seems very busy all the time. i cant imagine playing on a high pop server. it must seem overcrowded at the moment.
Played the betas and loved the game. I decided not to do head-start and am waiting for the 1st. Probably a lot of people like me out there, so we need those servers if it is jammed up now.
ok so we assume. 2.5k concurrent online at one time and one server holds maybe 10k per. This number is incredible. Outside of queue times the launch has been flawless.
How many people on the sidelines are jumping in? 31 is quite astonishing.
I`m also one of the people who will be joining on March 1st. Glad these new servers will be there because I know a couple of people who will be playing on the 1st also. I figuere a lot of people didn`t do the headstart.
I always predicted this "number on the sidelines" was there. After major burns like Aion and FF14 who could blame you. I did not expect it this early.

Maybe come back and post when they have 8 million subscriptions and have been around 6+ months and still growing.
Since anyone could have dropped 5 dollars for a preorder code and still not pickup the game, it doesnt mean jack yet. Come back in 2 months or 3 months and we will see.

The majority of EU servers are either Full or High during prime time with a couple only at medium.
I don't play rift at the moment so I had not realized the current servers were so busy. The person I quoted makes sense with all the crappy launches in recent times how many people would not preorder and wait and see how it pans out. Anyways have fun and good luck rifters.
