Razer has good products, bad reviews or not. Personally, I think they feel funny. Too soft & buttons aren't raised very high.
I have a G15 because it has more of a standard keyboard feel and is backlit. I don't really use the LCD screen or macros at all. They are fairly cheap now, I think I got mine at BestBuy for around $60.
Was about to say the same about the Logitech G-series. I have an G11 myself and am very pleased with it. The backlit keys are a good option as well, also because I can adjusst the lights (full, half and off) with one press on a button.
Pro for the G11 over the (new) G15 (and most other newer G-series keyboards is that you have 3x 18 macros at your disposal, while the newer G-series keyboard have only 6... Also the price, like the G15, it's only around € 55... Con is the lack of the LCD display, but I most likely would not use it if I had it...
Also, a newer G-series keyboard (G9xx I thought) has a 2-colour backlit. blue and orange iirc...
The microsoft sidewinder x6 is the best gaming keyboard. It a backlight, 30 macro buttons and a detachable numpad that can go on either side of the keyboard. Best keyboard I have ever owned.
G15. Your life will never be the same after getting one. The LCD may not seem useful but once you start using it you'll realize why you always needed it. Chatting, RSS Feeds, EVGA Precision. There are lots of valuable can't imagine living without apps for it.
Thius is what i use. Nice keyboard, 3 colors (adjustable brightness), usb ports, Audio jacks, and the left side gamepad is great for MMO's.
It is large so will need plenty of desktop space. The Home,Delete,End buttons are ingreated into the numpad on the right so if you use those keys alot it can be a hassle. Also the gamepad on the left can take some getting use to. Its a love it or hate it thing.
I have owned one for two years and never had a probelm with. I actually own multiple steelseries products and never had a probelm with any of them. Excellent products.
The Razer Anansi. You can set the backlight color to pretty much any color you want and blah blah, has 7 thumb modifier keys (can also be used for a single key or whatever afaik) and stuff. I haven't tested it out yet because those lazy asses can't release a nordic version of their keyboards.
You said preferably below 100$, this one's for 99,99$! Ain't that just perfect eh? Bad jokes aside, check it out, looks to be an awesome keyboard for MMOs and whatever other games that use more than two buttons.

Oh, that's an awesome keyboard. Too bad Steel is hard to get in Holland, and (more importantly) it's almost as big as the sliding part of my desk *holds mouse in hand and not sure where to use it*
The Razer one that I thought I wanted has a lot of neg. reviews. It also has a lot of good ones.
I've been using the Merc Stealth for the past year and a half, works a treat. It also offers three different color and brightness settings, or you can turn the back lighting off.

You're not kidding.
They're really nice keyboards with an excellent typing feel to them, and an efficient macro setup, as well as a bright, nice-looking backlighting that's also adjustable (4 levels, including off). The X6 also has the detachable numpad that you mentioned, which can even be moved to either the right or left side of the keyboard. They also have the customary anti-ghosting technology that you tend to find on higher-end membrane keyboards.
These are very well designed, very nice keyboards that pretty much do what any typical gamer wants, and are VERY cheap, compared to the competition, yet for some reason, people seem to turn their noses up at the Microsoft Sidewinder keyboards.
It's almost like they don't feel they're getting a real keyboard unless they pay $80 for it, even if you can get one of these for just over $40.
I like the arrow buttons. 6 buttons, 2 for northwest and northeast (so to speak, while pushing 2 of the bottom 3 for southwest or south east, correct? I'm guessing.

Hmm I actually like the looks of the Sidewinder. Sounds like it has some of the best anti-ghosting available next to the Razer Tarantula and low profile macro keys. Maybe I can trade my 2 month old G15 for one somehow

I like the Cyborg V.7 Keyboard for now. Only problem is finding a site that sells it. New. And in the US.
Here it is on a parenting friendly site:

If you want a great backlit-laptop feel then lycosa is your keyboard
If ya want great backlit-macro- high rasied keys i'd go G15
My 2 cents.

Unlike the CPU or video card, deciding on a monitor and keyboard is hard.
So far, it's down to the V7, the Sidewinder and the Lycosa.
The G15 is great, I'm sure but the price is too high.

Since you're posting on a MMO gaming site, I'm suggesting this here:
