Behold...

absolutely stunning if you ask me. Lot's of potential. This is an update for the Unreal Engine 3 btw. It will be the building block for The Unreal Engine 4. The demo runs in "realtime" on 3x 580GTX cards. So we can expect this in 2-3 years.

Very impressive... looks like in 2-3 years they will be caught up to what Cryengine 3 is doing right now! LOL

Yet Crysis 2 looks worse than Crysis 1 in some areas... most areas actually lol.

The video looks great - let's see some in-game stuff that hasn't been postprocessed.

Since it's a tech demo and not a teaser/trailer, is there post processing in it? If so, then that really wouldn't be a tech demo, no?

Looks nice. Just imagine this, with this sort of graphics even tetris will look impressive!

All is rendered in real-time. There is no post processing going on here. Than again it is running on 3x580GTX :)

    @ at Bren,

You should seriously get your eyes checked since this literally shits all over the Cryengine 3, at least concerning the lightning and texture wise. Than again the Cryengine 3 is used on mid/high PC's as off now. The new unreal engine is something for the next generation of PC's.

Whats use if game developers stuck at DX9.0c all games released in 2009-2010 and 2011 are XP DX9.0c lol.

Last few years whole gamedevelopment took step backwards instead of forward.

And those games who have some so called dx 11 are upscaled with 720p lol sad real sad:(

Also big mistake is that almost all games are mainly developed for NVIDIA thats just not good for progress eather not healthy business:(

Majority of gamers still play games on 3 year old or older pc's or worse laptops lol

There killing off pc im affraid:(

    Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

Battlefield 3 won't support DX9 and Windows XP and is due to be released in late 2011, I think by 2012 we'll have quite a few titles that require DX10.

1.5 year ago i bought my x58 rig with icore7, win7, ati 5870 system and DDR3 so i could as ATI announced play new generation of games that supported DX 11 well most claims where almost 100% false and my fullHD 1080p can handle this but these games still looked XP quality:(

Only way i can see great fullHD 1080p is HEAVEN benchmark 2.5 with extreme tessallation and my rig can hadle it rather well.

Stalker pripyat-Metro(could only be played through steam so uninstalled Metro and steam is crap) where no DX11 games and dirt2 i could only play through windows live xbox account on my pc so i uninstall that game was bundle with my videocard so no big deal.

And sinds Ati released DX11 and nvidia later not one single AAA Title or other top game was DX11 all where released for DX9.0c and only vista/win7 compatable:(

But on positive side i dont have to upgrade my PC for past 1.5years:)

that looks amazing. wonder when MMo is going to hit that level of quality?  with graphics like that and maybe better internet  bandwith globally, a truly next gen MMO might surface. awesome graphics still need awesome client to server connection speed.  anyhow frostbite 2 unreal and cryengine are the next wave.

lol, yea right. dont expect mmos to have such graphics for at least 5+ years, and GOOD mmos with those graphics for at leat 10 year.

Unreal engine is free to try and learn.

For game developers, Unreal engine is SOOOO MUCH easier to get into than Cry Engine 3 because you need to apply to even be able to use Cry Engine 3.

Unreal Engine?  Just download it and make stuff... Wanna sell?  Just pay the royalty fee (which is a % based on your profits)

impressive CG animation, i hope the next final fantasy would be great as this one. i bet the pc graphics requirement would be quite expensive too. i guess i have to save money for now

and how old is PS3 you ask?:D

the fact that the PC's you are whining about is YOUNGER then the best current console on the market is abit weak for your argument isnt it?:D

PC will ALWAYS be the platform that pushes the game tech that benefits consoles...  not the other way around.   you cant expect a console SYSTEM that is CHEAPER then a single 580GTX VIDEO CARD to PUSH technology that is being demo'ed on 3x 580GTX:D

it's like saying a machine gun is going to put out more firepower then a tank:D

i'm thinking more devil may cry, or even a real attempt in making a ghost in the shell/appleseed game with this engine.  sigh...  if only square has gotten a Shirow Masamune IP to work with... :D
