Well actually... the storyline/lore is growing on me as I get to know Telara better. At first I didn't think much of it at all but now I think the Ascended thing works, as does the opposing ideals of the two factions.
In Sanctum on Faeblight there is some serious roleplay going on.
When I roleplay, I roleplay a dwarf and that's not really very complicated - not really affected by the lore of Telara so far as I'm just a gruff, good-hearted lover of metal and armor - but I always find good fun.
The only roleplay is the usual over-egged crap you get in other games, a dwarf rolls up to you and starts talking Scottish for example.....give it a rest, for the love of god dwarves don't HAVE to be Scottish!
If another bulbous stunty calls me "laddie" again i swear i'll rip him a new "A"

Really good RPing takes a lot of knowledge and fast-thinking, as well as fast typing and creativity. It is by far the hardest thing to do well in MMOs.
