I'd like to make a good duo for my nephew and I. Any recommendations?

Each Wizard gets to choose a main school, and then learn spells from other schools. If the two of you plan to adventure together, it is often handy to have someone with healing abilities.
Life school, whether taken as a primary or a secondary, is very strong in its durability, but lacks high damage spells.
Balance can also be helpful in a group, as it has lots of 'buff' spells that allow you to increase the accuracy and damage of yourself and your team mates.
Each school, of course, has its strengths and weaknesses.
Where Ice has the highest health, it also does the lowest damage. You'll last longer in a duel, and you'll need to since it may take you longer to take the enemies down.
Where Storm has the highest damage, it also has the lowest accuracy. You'll do lots of damage when you do hit, but you'll hit less often.
Fire is often preferred by patient Wizards as its main goal is to do damage over time. This can seem slow to some players so it's a very personal choice.
Myth's strength is in its minions, but if you don't learn how to use them effectively, you're missing out on a lot of the dynamics of that school.
Death has the advantage of healing while doing damage, however it's more of a solo-ers choice as the healing cannot be transferred to anyone else.
I'm not sure that was much help but since each account can have up to 6 Wizards, I encourage you to experiment together, and I'm sure you'll build a formidable team. Just make sure you're doing the most important thing of all - having fun!
My suggestion is that one of you play Life and the other play a high damage school, like storm, fire or death. That way you have good support and survivability and damage output. Not saying that Myth, Ice and Balance aren't worth looking into, it's just that they're more middle of the road and require a lot more thoughtful play.
You can duo with anything, but the road can be much harder and slower if both of you go support or both go high damage. Although you probably could do well if you both played death, you would still lack the ability to buff or support each other. In other words, you'd be a team that doesn't do much actual teamwork : )
My main is Storm at 47, but I get really frustrated with him sometimes due to the huge number of fizzles. So, I've been working on a Life mage who is now in his 40's and loving it. Low fizzle rate coupled with the ability to save my and my groups bacon is quite satisfying. I do enjoy my Storm in goup play as well, when there is a life mage present. It allows me to really maximize my Tempest spell which does amazing damage to groups of monsters.
Thanks a lot for the replies. I let him pick any class he wanted to, and he picked Myth. So I'll go storm / healer. I know he picked a tougher class to play, but I'm looking at it as a great way to teach him depth and strategy in mmo's.
