Mortal Online bad reviews on this site

DestroyerWDestroyerW Member Posts: 2

Mortal Online is the only game that has exited me since UO.

The pvp is entertaining and gets your heart racing knowing your going to lose everything along with your pride.

Yes the game has bugs and the delivery of patch notes take far to long but these guys are certainly on the right path if your into hardcore style PVP games..

I have recently stopped playing MO but still subbed, and have also been on the GM team to help out as much as I can with a game that gets my 100% backing.

If your a carebare WOW clonne lover then stay away from this game, if you want something unique that gives you maximum enjoyment from a PVP based game then give this a try..

9/10 for me due to the massive potential this game has.

I don't think you're supposed to use it for that...

I don't think the bad reviews are here only,  even the official forums seem to have plenty of players that are unhappy with the game.  To say it has problems is an understatement.   My trial time in game was anything but enjoyable.  I love good PvP,  Mount n Blade combat is some of my favorite combat around,  but MO just doesn't cut it,  it doesn't seem to do anything really well.

Glad you like it at all,  but sounds like you're supporting a game you aren't actually playing.  In regards to potential,  DarkFall and Xsyon seem to be able to keep their servers up, and have quite a bit more in regards to potential than anything I've seen from MO,  and judging from the teams of both of those games,  thats saying something.

Personaly it wasn't my cup of tea..

in just the very begenning of the game i seen way to many shlongs for my taste. I dont wanna sit there and duel a naked guy and when you die you have his wang hovering over your face. I understand its suppose to be like a realistic virtual enviroment , but c'mon man . womans breast hangin out and flopping around like nothing. All you do is chop wood for EVER!

Anyway to each his own...im glad you enjoy it..maybe i can find somthing new to enjoy myself soon.

As has previously been said, potential is a fantasy. So many games with "potential" never realise any of it.

Currently this game is in a terrible pre-beta state, no one in their right minds would pay a sub for this game at present.

There is nothing unique about MO, wake up, IF you have played mmo's since UO, you should know better.

Also, as this is your first post, or more likley this is an alt account, doesn't matter, trolling is frowned on my the mods here.

Finally how can you claim to be backing a game so strongly, that your not even playing at the moment?

3/10 for me, still. Even with all the problems fixed, it'll never be >6.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

Hey, try the free trial your self and you swill see the state of it! Problem on this forums is that a couple of users are very active, and writes all negative about it. That is why it looks as it does!

I can assure you that there are people the loves this game, and think it is the best out there!

Here is a vid about the state of the PvP: http://www.youtube.com/user/MortalOnline?feature=mhum#p/f/5/L5nfxxUZt58

For me this game has it all!

Yes, there are some minor bugs but it has not bothered me at all since I came back to the game a couple of months ago!'

And the server is pretty damn stable now (except for the start of the trial, and one timelast weekend or so). So yes, if you loved UO, you should try it!

Since it is free now, there is nothing to stop you image

Hey I respect your right to pay for a game that you don't play but as others have said the "bad reviews" are far from limited to just this site.  If you are the same DestroyerW from Harlequin then you know full well that your whole guild left the game a few months ago which, along with your admission that you personally stopped playing recently is quite a statement about the actual playability of the game.   We are now 9 months after release... at least to me that means the time for potential is over and it's past time to start delivering.

I do agree though that anyone interested should give the free trial a look before purchasing.

Good for the OP that likes the game, however, this type of game doesn't cater to the masses. The game could be 100% polished and still the masses won't play it.

edit: well the OP is not playing it lol

The problem with MO is that it's more like it's being developed by hobbyist rather than an indie developer. Some good ideas, but they just don't seem to know how to execute them.

Sure if you don't want a WoW clone then MO falls into that category but much more is learned from the fact that many of those that talk about how great of a game MO is often seem to follow it with "I no longer play but I'm still subbed".

When a game is in a state where true fans can not enjoy playing and instead talk about it's potential even after it being out for all this time it's a giant red flag being waved.

"I like the game, but even I can't play it" is not a good promotional strategy.

And the bad reviews for MO (As others have said) aren't just here, they are on pretty much every site that discusses it.

I have been watching MO for like a year before release..they have recently released a press release about the crap upto this stage which gave me confidence.

I am Destroyer for harlequin, this may be my first post but felt the need to post my own thoughts.

I said the state at the moment isnt good enough, but it will only get better even if it takes ages.
