this is definitely not a pay to win game.  nothing you can buy for real life money will really help you win the game.  gold ammo is the best thing going for real life money as it gives you more penetration to do damage to heavier tanks but in higher tiers that ammo cost 10 to 15 gold a shot which for a typical game where you shoot ten times a game that can add up quickly.  you can easily spend 20 bucks a day on gold ammo if you wanted to when the game goes live.  gold tanks are a joke, i groan inside when i see a gold tank on my team cause i know that is going to be a free kill for the other team.  the only other benefit to buying gold is to convert it to free exp or to buy credits with it to help you go up the tiers faster but that will take alot of money also at later levels and will not help you win games either just give you a bigger tank.

this game has easily been the funnest game i have ever played, im more into it in beta than i am in rift even though i know the game will be wiped at the end of the month.  seriously fun game even with all the problems.

It is a pay to win game. You have to pay to have a premium account. So that credits will be more and your xp. Aquiring better ammo is a big difference in game battles. I have made several comparsions reguarding this in the forum especially with my P2.

Without the premium account the grind will be horrible to say the least. This is what athariel meant I do believe.

While this game maybe fun to you it may not be to others. The game does infact have serious issues 1 being the spotting system that seems it will never be fixed, this issue has been beat to death by the players and no effort has been made to correct, it took some while for WOT to admitt it. Russian Co-effefients are alot higher than othe nations giving them the better ability to hide better, this is a game breaker and one of the reasons for the spotting issue in game.

T-54 is definately overpower, I have given several facts based on this Their Bias sticks out like a sore thumb.

Too bad Drew Wood wasnt able to really research the game and its real game issues. Last of all this is not an MMO!    FPS witrh tanks take hardly any ability to play it drive shoot hide etc

    or camp in some battles

    2. Skill? Great tanks alone wont win it.  Im sorry but even if you have the better tanks a team of lower tanks can still win the game.  This game may be simple upfront but it is very much a mind game.

^ lol you could have worded that better to sound a little less insulting.  Haha it was very helpful tho, so thank you!  Everyone else, you should read that link, it has lots of good info if you are already into the game!

Hi. A few comments from a beta tester, who has been around since the beginning here in Europe.

I believe that the amounts being charged for gold purchase everywhere are horrendous. I mean, I can buy TWO quite good new top of the charts games for about the same price as the heavy tank package here. Then I have two big-world quite different games with a lot of features and an immense amount of variety, vs. enough gold to get a few good things for a while and one questionable slow-moving heavy tank. Soon that gold will be gone (I have been in beta since the beginning, so I know how fast that gold can be chewed up).

This is a fantastic game, but for those prices, it has lost its lustre for me completely.

Too bad. Really too bad that there seem to be some very money-hungry extortionists connected to this otherwise great adventure.

Overall the game is very enjoyable, and the balance does seem to tip more towards the Russians, though I would not say Russians dominate every tier. I liked it the few times i get chance to play.  Has bugs but every game does, still not hooked yet

Now seriously why even bother beating this dead horse subject. Did you post the same things in the WoT forum too? I have been in the beta since near the beginning, not that this matters really.

You know very well there is no need whatsoever to buy any of those pre-order packages. They are just available to the people who want premium to get fsater experience and more spending credits. Anyone can download the game and play for free and be just as competitive as the person who has the gold, it will just take them a little longer to get the xp is all. THE PACKAGES ARE TOTALLY NOT NECESSARY.

I have been buying many of these "top of the chart games" for many years and most of them typically give you a couple months entertainment and for 50-60 bucks that is a 25-30 buck a month game. I can say a lot of those games didn't last more than a week for me. I will take the FREE TO PLAY WoT anyday thanks.

I agree - it is a really fun game.  Not an MMO in the traditional sense, but a game doesn't have to be an MMO to be fun.

It does what it sets out to do very well.  It provides a multi-player arena for some amazingly fun tank battles.  The "character progression" is a lot more enjoyable than I originally thought it would be.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
