27 hours for update/patch?

GrayGreeneGrayGreene Member Posts: 239

Hello, Im concerned something might be wrong.   The download for Rift was fast.  My internet connection is fast broadband.  Yet the update/patch is taking 27 hours and counting to complete.  So far it's been 5 hours and im now at 22 more to finish.  This cant' be normal.  I turned off my firewall but it's still taking forever.  Anyone know what might be slowing down the update?

something is definatly wrong, I am sure you have tried restarting it, not sure when you started but could it be related to massive IT traffic considering what happened in Japan?

I found my windows firewall had come on all by itself.  So i had turned off Mcaffe firewall and windows firewall was on.  I restarted and now it says about an hour left, but seems to be moving much slower than that . . . . Just started reading about Japan.  My heart goes out to those affected.  It's all happening just like predicted.  I live in Ohio, and I can tell you we've had storm systems some weather people have said shouldn't be happening, couldn't be happening, but obviously is.

So far (knock on wood) the only thing that updates as fast as Rift is the Steam updater. Steam and Rift are the fastest two things (at downloading data) on my computer.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Yea, I think something is wrong.  That most recent update/patch was only about 150Mb... I'm pretty sure on a 56K modem you woulda have been done by now.  Note the issue to Trion and restart it.
