CAn't play any other MMO's since i know that GW2 is comming up. So i took a welldeserved sabatical for the first time since EQ released... Normally with new announced games i am allways thinking if only such or so, seeing the design flaws straight from the start... But with this game i just want to play and immerse me in the world. I am enjoying my sabatical in real life, and the knowledge that GW2 is comming up makes that sabatical even sweeter...
GW2 is the first MMO that deserves the title next gen ever since the release of EQ.... why? Because they have the whole package done right...

I think you are suffering GW2 Sickness.
I thought it was only present at GW2Guru, but now it seems to have spread to MMORPG.com as well.
Well let's just hope that it will live up the hype, it's interesting tho how Arenanet's ways of doing things differently has affected people and you see a lot more people criticizing how quests work in other mmorpgs, how boring combat is and stuff like that.
We need a better name for the ailment. Something that has a nice ring to it like the one used for Rift.
Seriously, the game has not even released, not even open beta, and you can already say they got the whole package right? That is just wrong, when it has released and if it is as good as they promise then yes it is next gen. Do not misunderstand me i do not hate the game, but they promise a lot of next gen and seems like every developer is doing that, but in the end most of it is just not next gen....

the problem is ArenaNet is very good at the infomation release game, and they have one off the best track records in MMO gaming of delivering whats promised! Based on that we are a few that have jumped the hypetrain
Correct me if i'm wrong but arena only made guild wars right, i mean before Guild wars 2. Cuase if thats true they have no mmo history. At all. Because GW wasn't an MMo. it was a Corpg. I wouldn't say it but even arena stated it was. Just saying is all.

I think it's more of a case of Hypetrainitis.
Symptoms are all there; the subject lost interest in other activities he has been enjoying before, hyperbolic statements regarding his expectations and a lack of any kind of scrutiny. Must be Hypetrainitis. A nasty infliction which destroys one's immune system against potential disappointments and causes forum tension with those who are unaffected.

But then again.. GW1 is a MMO with instanced zones. Everything else is the same as in other "true" mmo's, so anyone who's saying they have no experience with mmo's is just lying to himself.
To the OP, wait for the release before proclaiming anything as next-gen.

All I've heard is what Arena Net is claming about their game. Companies never overstate the awesomeness and innovative nature of their games do they?
Or, we can play the beta (or however much of the game they let us try) before making a bold judgement.

Absolutely correct. However, everything they have said has been present in the demos so far so I'm (and many others I think) willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until they do otherwise. Still, it is a bit of jumping the gun in relation to the game. However, even with just their promises I have noticed my irritation with other games has gone up.

. No on a semantic lvl thats right GW1 was not an mmo, and so! Does it do anything to their track record of delivery? Based on that the only one thing that disqualify them from the MMO is the Massive part, and we have already seen that in the shatterer demo.
So whats your point?
I have been hyped about other games before...
But this is different, i am not hyped, i am calm and cool wayting on this game. And every handson experience posted on the internet confirms that this is the game i have been wayting for so long.
Point is that i know what i like and what i don't like in MORPG's based on over 10 years of experience. I almost feel like Arena net has been inside my head and put all my ideas about a good MMO in this project and even improved on some of them.
I am not hyped... I am confident... That this will be the best MMO i have played so far.... Maybe there even is enough difference to give me that fresh game experience that EQ pVE and DAoC PvP gave me, tough i am not counting on that.
It doesn't feel like a disease to me, it feels like a blessing...
I am not spamming boards or reading all i can about the game... I passed that state allready...
I am confident that this game will be great and now i am enjoying other great content mostly in real life ...
