What I really want.

Seems to be some more talk about AA of late so I thought I would take a second and jot down what I really hopoe we will be able to get from the game.

 

I want to guild my own house, make it a black smiths, I want my guild to build houses around me filling other roles and make a town, and when our town is big enough I want our guild to be able to build a castle, a place for war.

Further more, I want that when a guild builds a castle on an area of land, the immediate and surounding land becomes that guilds property, and shows up on the map as being owned by that guild.

I then want  other players to be able to destroy the surounding houses in our town, and lay saige to our castle, if their siege works and they take our castle then our land passes ownership to the winning attackers and the winning guilds now owns two castles, and two chunks of land.

Attack Houses > Destroy town Center > Siege Castle

If we can do the above, then I along with most of my guild will be very , very , very happy.

 

As a side note, it would be cool if each area of land your able to build a castle on came with is own resource , it would add a tactical reason for taking over a castle to gain its resources, also I think attacks should only be allowed a set distance from any guilds own borders.

    You can build your castle and so on on the North Continent. But you can settle on the eastern and werstern too.

    Like Romtim said, what you want is very similar to what XLGames has planned for the free northern continent (you'll be able to make a house on the other continents, but not a seigeable castle, as far as we know at the moment).

    There's a few differences, though, between your idea and XLGames'. There seems to be two types of major groups in ArcheAge: guilds and expeditionary forces. Guilds are groups of players that play together, but expeditionary forces are groups of guilds or players (this is where the details get murky) that can explore the northern continent and found townships (which eventually become seigeable castles).

    How expeditionary forces are formed, maintained, and controlled isn't very well known at the moment.

    Anyhow, I hope you and your guild stay excited for ArcheAge, because it sounds like the perfect game for you guys. It'll be a while before we can play it, though... ;)

    I read expeditionary forces as being one of two things.
    a) - An alliance of guilds, formed to make protecting each other and their castles easier.
    or
    b) - an open world gathering of random players grouped together to pvp, kinda like a big battle ground group that just happens to take place in the open game world and not in an instance.
    I HOPE!. that its A, Guilds should be able to grow strong enough to protect their own lands, and if they cant then they should be able to form alliances with their neighbours for protection.
