Meh, I'm sure it'll get released when it's done ;), prefer that they finish it instead of setting a deadline and then rush the game.

Except that SWTOR has something GW2 doesnt have, blasters and lightsabers, I'm personally getting extremely tired of all the generic classes and mechanics in D&D styled mmo's.

But meh, gonna play both since gw2 is free, but I just can't see myself getting into another traditional "mage, priest, hunter" etc setting again, I'd like to shoot some laser and force throw stuff for a change and then go into space combat.

I think you need to look up about GW2 a bit more, theres nothing generic about them.

How long before Blizzard begins calling their dungeons, "flashpoints?" Or adding npc voices or companions who run stuff for your chararcter?

Sad to see so many arguments about other games and fights (verbal) between posters. Let us talk about the TARAL V video.

    1) The video was an instanced pick up group (PUG) of four players without experience in SWtOR mechanics or data. They plainly were experienced online players as you can see from their speed and co-operation despite lack of familiarirty with the game. Now my question, are four players the maximum for all flashpoints or PUG, even for guilds?

    2) I noticed that there were no companions with the characters. However I read (somewhere) that only one companion per character would be allowed in groups so a companion would not be allowed to count as a "group" member when forming a team, but insinuating companions would accompany teams making the total up to eight if each team PC brings a companion. However, will companions be allowed in the Flashpoints? Whether they are allowed or not, the result will drastically affect the gameplay.

    3) While the PC were taking on different roles I saw a number of times where they acted in a totally different role on several occasions, not just because they were forced. This indicates that a 'healer' can get into the action deliberately if they wish. Option there as in any group but with more confidence in varying from the basic role.

    4) There was a definite statement that this was a midlevel (32) game Flashpoint, with players unfamiliar with their characters and abilities. In addition the game had a timelimit (45 min) due to the real world constraints of the convention schedual. Finally there was a reduction in power? of the AI opponents in order for the reporters to experience as much as possible of the gameplay within the time limit.

    5) I did watch the Jedi (guardian?) who did click/spam two abilities, a lot. Unsure of the others of course, did not see their UI but this would seem to be a personal opinion on being good or bad for your own playstyle. Special attacks were interesting for me and, personally, I thought the whole thing looked fast and furious. Saw the med drones saving some *** several times and a couple of the PC nearly croaked even with the reduced AI bad guys. That Boss (Captain) sure had a lot of defenses/hitpoints. However it took the non-tank players a lot of fighting to get clear and help the main Trooper, the way it should be I believe.

All in all the Flashpoint showed what should be a fun, exciting and satisfying game and playstyle. I would recommend having more and different items for pulling from the ground for throwing, and the explosive items available for use as (traps) was an interesting add on. Good job BW, my money and I are waiting.

I am going to be Selfish and hope they do not release till the end of the year or next year,  because I have just moved house and do not want a game distracting me from what I Should be doing,  I can so Easily get side tracked into just going on to see how things r going [crafting wise etc] in-game and end up in the game for hours!

I am Weak willed when the game beckons.

Aamazing how I will not allow outside influences to take me out of my game - but I will allow the game to take me away from RL things I Should be doing!

From the SWTOR video, it just look weird and stupid when a trooper tank the mobs. The mobs should be atleast should be at 1 or 2 meter away from the trooper imo and not that close.

Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :)

  • Ho hum. Another level based game with predefined combat rolls. Well, the masses will be happy at least.
